VHS : The Price Of Kissing
Pauley Perrette is more famous for her current role on NCIS as the Goth gal who helps the team solve murder mysteries. In this movie, she's a Goth gal in the Big Easy seeking love. She finds love with the help of a voodoo priestess and the words of wisdom of the late Lou Rawls. Jazz music and poetry are important to the plot (though the poet she briefly falls in love with constantly mumbles and stares at the ground, occasionally baring his chest)There's a love triangle (involving Pauley's roommate),and numerous love scenes in a bathtub surrounded by candles (a fire hazard, definitely)

It's magical realism. The acting is soap opera-ish and campy;the script is okay. However, its sense of magic keeps the plot aflame and the interracial love relationships are portrayed not for sensationalism ... Read More

Don Cheadle is a great actor and I have so many of his movies. I remember this on HBO and watching the success, shock, and tragedy of a man that took the wrong path. It really wakes you up. I think it would be a great movie for schools to play for students.

VHS : I Am Sam
I've never seen this movie before, but my mum was practically giving it away (she's running out of space) so I grabbed it, and just happened to be in the mood for it. Instead of letting it sit and gather dust until I happen to be in the mood for it. Like most of my "to watch" pile is.

I Am Sam is one of those gems of movies that just has to be seen. From the sweetness of Sam, to the sarcasticness of Michelle Pfeiffer, to Dakota Fanning's debut film role. Each character has a role to fill, and the film could have so failed miserably, but each star makes their role special. Sean was unbelievable as Sam, although there are influences from Rain Man. He captures every emotion perfectly, of a bewildered father, from putting on a nappy (with badges), to reading to his daughter, to trying to work out life ... Read More

VHS : Don King - Only In America
I can watch (and I try) this movie everyday. If you are in the game of promotions its a must have especially if you are a minority or Jewish. It shows what real hustle is all about. Sure many people have a lot of negative opinions of the King but check most people don't really know his story. At the end of the day what i came away with this movie is that you have to fight for what you want it will not be handed out freely. When you have to compete with people with more money and education amongst other things they not playing fair and when you play by their rules you are the bad guy. Don King just mastered the game the created and he beat them at it by any means necessary and i for one am not mad at him. If he had not been to aggressive we would know about Don King because they would not have cut him in. The man is no saint but ... Read More
