With Halloween just around the corner...I know, it's over a month away! I just can't wait to start watching lots of good horror and sci-fi films, so I'm jumping the gun. I was hoping to see this released on DVD this year, but I haven't heard anything yet. This is a classic old ghost story / mystery with lots of creepy atmosphere. Black and white, lots of creepy noises, ghost and fog. From Dr Shock to all my horror buddies, look for this one on cable (hopefully), its a good starter for the season! Please release this on DVD!

VHS : Mary & Joseph: Story of Faith
I first saw this movie on television when I was a child. The story of the birth of Christ having always been my favorite in the Bible, I was thrilled to see it acted out. This movie gives you a 'what might have been' view of the lives of Mary and Joseph, something that the bible failed to give. Mary and Joseph where a young couple deeply in love, but the discovery of Mary's pregnency, plus Joseph's involvment with the Zelot's, almost drove them apart. We also get a look into the lives of Elizabeth and Zacarias, the parents of St. John. This movie give a completely human view of all characters in what is the most famous story in history.

I was lucky to find these movies for cheap, but it's definitely one of the best trilogies I have ever seen. The 2nd and 3rd are no match for the first...but the sequels are hardly ever as good as the first in any case.

4.Ulzana's Raid starring: Burt Lancaster, Bruce Davison, Jorge Luke, Richard Jaeckel, Joaquín Martínez

VHS : Ulzana's Raid
Fans of "Valdez is Coming" should defintitely enjoy it. The two movies were made in the same timeline and Burt Lancaster did a fine performance in each. In this story once again he plays a similar role as a tracker. This time tracking an Apache leaving a path of destruction. I highly recommend this movie, but I highly recommend you don't pay the outrageous sellers that should not be allowed by Amazon to sell for $75 to $339. Eventually this will be made available on DVD again for a reasonable price. If you have a multi-region player you definitely can find it cheaper. If you enjoyed this catch "The Professionals" and "The Hallelujah Trail".

Let no one say that this Harold Robbins show biz potboiler doesn't begin with a bang: On the very day that Valley High student Pia Zadora wins an award as "most promising English major," she parties with fast Beverly Hills High students, one of whom --- weed-smoking Ray Liotta --- fondles her award and proclains its resemblance to a member of the male anatomy, fondles her breast ("Valley girls are anxious to please!"), throws her onto the lawn ("I'm gonna give you something special!"), and rapes her with the nearby garden hose. All this in the film's first fifteen minutes! (You may think it can't possibly continue at this crazed, trashy pace --- but you are wrong: In the seventy-six minutes left, there are eight nude love scenes, two lesbian encounters, two showers, one hot tub, one Jacuzzi, and one pool table yet ... Okay, folks, please indulge me....if I provide the right context, you might thoroughly understand why the title of this review is oh, so apropos!!

...okay, so it was a crisp, foggy, rainy, windy San Francisco Sunday morning....one of those mornings where you awoke, looked outa the window and immediately knew you would deservedly luxuriate in bed after a loooooooong week....this was the perfect time to catch up on some old movies I had been meaning to watch/may have missed....I had passed by Bram Stoker's The Mummy on guide listings, each time wondering, "why haven't I heard of this before?" all because the natural assumption was that it was somehow remotely connected to Bram Stoker's Dracula...at least in terms of production values.....nothing could be further from the truth...

....I should have paid ... Read More
