This is such a great movie. It has the look of Batman and Batman Returns, and has the feel of all the gothic literature/films that have been seen. Brandon Lee's (sadly) final performance is a treat: he is the one and only "Eric Draven", and all the others are just copycats of him. Pacing and direction of this film is compelling, while the wicked art direction stands out. Action sequences are a must-see, and the script is purely well-written. ***** out of *****.

I love all of the TBAA episodes, but this is my absolute favorite! This was also the first one I ever saw. Movies usually are not able to make me cry, but this one has me in tears every time! What really does it is Monica's (one of the angels) incedible devotion to Jean Chang. When Jean is in prison, some common criminals are hired by the police to beat her to death. Monica, unseen to the criminals, shields Jean from the blows, taking them herself. This takes a lot of love and courage! I would reccommend this to anyone and everyone.

Obviously, this movie has not been edited very well because it is a screener's copy. I think, actually, that JBJ does some of his best acting because it is so out of character for a rockstar. There is real tragedy here but the ending is so unrealistic that it takes away from the heartbreak of these two people and the sacrifices one is willing to make for someone you truly love.

4.Boxer's Adventure (Dub) starring: Ying Bai, Barry Chan, Kong Ching-ha, Siu Gam, Han Hsieh

VHS : Boxer's Adventure (Dub)
DVD gets a 5 star rating because it is perfectly widescreened with good sound and one of the best dub jobs ever. Movie gets a 4/5.

Dorian Tan plays the same role he does in a lot of movies and is sent to solve a crime. What makes this movie unique is the 3 people he brings along with him to solve the case. Jack Long, Meng Fei, and Blacky Ko come along and this is one of the best kung fu comedies of all time. Jack Long is nicknamed Nancy Boy, Meng Fei is the ladies man, Blacky Ko is the gambler, and Dorian Tan plays it straightfaced liek always but gets in some good comedy. The main villian is not the best fighter but everything that happens before the final fight makes this one of the most enjoyable movies ever.

Not the best fights but still good. You can't ... Read More

Received this dvd timely. This is now my new favorite movie. Excellent movie! Really enjoyed the special features such as edited and extended scenes. Great romantic screenplay, music devine. Good history lesson. Very colorful. May buy an extra one just like it.

K, I really want everyone to see this, for the simple fact that my fave actor's in it (who will remain unnamed for personal reasons ^_^ LOL). I must say that it's the stupidest, most terrible movie I've ever seen; I loved it! The "low- budget cult weirdness", the bad writing, the situation, everything about it reminded me of some of the B (Z actually) movies I'd seen before, only it was made in '95. Heehee, this is currently my fave live-action movie.

I'm sometimes taken aback when conservative commentators (like Laura Ingraham) pose rhetorical questions like: Why doesn't Hollywood make as many anti-Communist films as it does anti-Nazi ones? She literally asked why if there was a Schindler's list, why there no STALIN'S LIST. Now, while it may be true that many Hollywood denizens are politically a bit left of center, is it really the case that, unbeknownst to us in the unsuspecting public, they've been glorifying Communist ideals and furthering its cause almost two decades after the fall of the Soviet Union?

I suppose if you were to cite RED CORNER as a film which takes on the last remaining Communist superpower, Ms Ingraham and her fellow rightwing pundits would respond that a. it's a rare exception; b. the only reason, these liberal filmmakers ... Read More

I rarely write reviews because it is so time consuming to write a good/thorough review.

I have read the other reviews for this movie and would like to submit an alternative way of looking at this movie. First, I do like the movie. It is exactly as it was designed to be - bloodless battles, villians that are larger than life, heroes that are equally large, and special effects that will never win any awards. The movie is simply 'fun' if you can leave your brain at the sidelines for a while. Who wouldn't want to learn to fly on clouds, learn martial arts from a mystic instructor, and battle dragons, demons and evil spirits all for the love of the beautiful goddess (ladies, just substitute 'handsome god') and to save the world?

That hardly seems like enough reason to give a movie a '4 star' rating ... Read More

10.The Breed starring: Adrian Paul, Bokeem Woodbine, Bai Ling, Péter Halász, James Booth

VHS : The Breed
The Breed is an edgy vampire flick with a gothic love story and a twisted plot of murder and deception in a fascist police state. Pros: Great style, great film shots and just enough emotion and unpredictability to keep you engaged. Cons: Not really any, it's a complete story that all adds up, experienced by credible characters (for this genre especially) and it has a satisfying ending. I hope we'll see more of the actors involved; each brings a unique flair to their roles. (I really loved this film; it's a keeper.)
