Potential buyers should be warned that this is not a DVD version of the made-for-film production that includes Angela Landsbury in the cast, though her name certainly appears on the box cover in the advertisement, the product description, and the reviews. It appears that none of the reviewers actually own a DVD copy of this film, and are therefore commenting on a different production than the one being sold (which I already own). As I remember, the production being sold here has sound issues, and the volume fades in and out. Nonetheless, "Hyacinth Bucket" gives a very strong performance as the foolish nursery maid, and the production has other appealing features to collectors.

This is a great movie. It's a fine Christmas movie, but it's just a great movie for any time. Where I come from, this story is called "Los Pastores." It's a lovely Hispano Christmas tradition--it goes with Posadas--where the whole town goes house to house with Mary & Joseph searching for a room at the inn--and in my part of the world folks have old handwritten scripts in endless archaic Spanish. It's funny, bawdy, and it used to be put on yearly in my town. But no one is willing to memorize the enormous scripts any more. Kids don't want to rehearse three times a week for a month before Christmas. So lots of people have never seen Los Pastores, or even heard of it. OK,this performance took place years ago but the spirit is still there Randy is always on his best in small theatres and when Linda Ronstadt is around he's really exited.I think there are just too little dvd's from this man who has such a great musical heritage In the meantime I keep on watching this great show!

A wonderful retrospective of Aretha Franklins' music career. I saw it on PBS and had to have it,so I searched the web for many months with no luck. I am thrilled to have on VHS until it is finally released on DVD. It leaves no stone unturned in telling her story. I grew up listening to her music and knew most of the details of her life,but this is a concise gathering of the facts that is unlike any other biography I have seen. If you like her music,it is a must-have.
