Amazon.com:
The Firm's Total Body: Fat Blaster combines aerobic and anaerobic exercises to optimize your body's fat-burning potential. This 45-minute workout utilizes weight training and cardiovascular techniques that simultaneously tone the major muscles and increase the heart rate. The aerobic segments are full of dance-like choreography and plyometric movements. These routines are easy to follow; however, the high-impact jumping found in some steps may prove difficult for beginning participants. Low-impact variations are an option, and weights can be decreased or increased to fit the individual fitness level of each student. A variety of participants should find the application and content of this workout approachable yet still adaptable for individual needs. The music sets a nice backdrop to the changing intensities and activities throughout all phases of this workout. Strength conditioning is incorporated into the cardiovascular work through weightlifting and isometric postures. This program doesn't miss a beat--everything from the triceps to the hamstrings are trained with weights and steps. All students will need a set of weights (3 to 8 pounds for women and 5 to 15 pounds for men), a short step (8 to 10 inches), a tall step (14 inches), and a dowel. Fat Blaster delivers a complete-body workout in a fun and upbeat format. --Olivia Voigts

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Cardio Workout!
I really liked this workout and I'm glad I added it to my collection. It's a fun, efficient cardio workout. After finishing this workout, especially the next day, I could feel it. I really liked all 3 instructors so that was a plus. Allie, Lisa and Nancy were great and the cuing was perfect. This video is great for beginning or advanced exercisers. I am an intermediate exerciser and if I feel the moves are getting too easy I simply add heavier weights for a challenge. The FIRM is unlike any other workout series. You will definitely reach your fitness goals with consistency and a little dicipline. You can not go wrong with a firm video. The thing I really liked about this video is usually when the firm says one of their videos is a "cardio workout" it still usually has a lot of slow & heavy ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Cardio Workout with Some High Intensity Moves
This this a 45 minute cardio workout that uses very light weights only to increase intensity. Equipment needed is a low/aerobic step, a fanny lifter (14 inches), a dowel (a mop or broom would work) and 3 pound weights. The fanny lifter is used only in brief intervals, so you would still get a good workout if you don't have anything of that height and just continue to use your step.

The music and overall workout moves quickly - and so does the time. There are stepping sections, a few, brief fanny lifting sections and pure cardio, which does feature quite a bit of hopping - between pylo jumps, bunny hops and jumping jacks.

The stepwork and few sections of the cardio workout had weak cuing which made it a little difficult to follow the first time, but a few uses will ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - great cardio from the Firm
My aunt gave me this tape during Christams. She had two copies of it and she gave me her other one.She said I would simply love it.Me being a complete Firm believer accepted it with open arms.I was a little bit confused of it when I looked at the Box seeing it was a complete Firm cardio workout.I had never done one before. So I viewed it before I did it I could see all the fancy footwork of it and all the box aerocics.I didn`t know if I could do it.I practiced and practiced it and I finally got it,I love it.
If you know what to do on this workout and know the steps like I do you will enjoy it.You do not need heavy weights on this particular volume but you will need 3-5 pound weights,An aerobic step 6-10 inches tall, and a mop or broom handle for balance.I have been alternating this with all ... Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Not the best Firm cardio workout
I originally added this tape to my Firm collection because I wanted extra cardio and fat burning, which this workout does provide. But on the whole, Super Cardio does that much better. I now use this workout only when I'm tired or sore but don't want to miss a workout. Unlike Super Cardio, Fat Blaster doesn't commit to being just a pure, tough cardio workout, and it ends up being not effective enough. Don't look for heavy weights here, and don't expect to get typical Firm results from this one either. Some of the aerobics sequences are fun, but there is a lot of repetition, particularly in the short-box sections. The final stretching isn't as thorough or effective as in other Firm workouts, so I always substitute stretches that I've learned from other Firm tapes. On the plus side, I like the ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - For occasional viewing
I have a ton of firm tapes and have been doing these workouts for about 10 years... I do a lot of the old total body tapes because the new ones are too easy. Fat Blaster falls in this category. On the down side, Lisa Kay is a terrible instructor - she doesn't call the moves in time and sometimes calls them incorrectly - I have the routines memorized and she sometimes still confuses me with her instructions. On the up-side (if you like aerobics) the workout is faster and more high energy than other Firm workouts. But since it's easy, what I do is I add it to another Firm parts tape like tough tape, standing legs, abs hips & thigh total body or sandwich it halfway in between the routines on the time crunch workout. So it works to extend the cardio section of any of the other workouts. It's too ... Read More
