VHS : Victor Victoria
For anyone who thinks that Julie Andrews is nothing more than a mere song and dance routine, or the voice behind that infectiously annoying `hills are alive' song I have only one thing to say to you; watch `Victor/Victoria'. I happened to stumble onto this film last night and I have thought of nothing else since. Sure, it has yet to be 24 hours but honestly, it is the ONLY thing that I have thought of since the credits began to roll. As a whole the film is adorable, but its strongest part is none other than Julie Andrews. Her astonishing performance is quite probably her finest moment (although I am very partial to `Marry Poppins') and she chews up each and every scene with her charm and grace.

Two emotionally wounded people find love through a dominant/submissive relationship. Maggie Gyllenhahl is great, as usual. Warning: although the domination scenes aren't that heavy, some people could find them offensive. But I'm not into BDSM myself and still liked the movie a lot.

George Strait is not really a big box office draw and not really a "great actor" but it was a good film, and George did pretty good for being his first movie, at least that I was aware of. The music was really nice. I went out and bought both the CD and DVD. The story line was pretty good but not an action pack film. If you really love George Strait you'll really love this movie !!

I saw this movie when I was a child and made sure my children got the opportunity to watch it also. My daughter has been singing the songs to my two year old grandson since he was born and he just loves them. I bought the DVD so I could watch it with him and he just went nuts over it!!! This omma (grandma) is a big hero!!!

If you like Civil War-era stories and whether or not you read the three books, I think you should enjoy this production. The characters, costumes, settings are all very true to the periods. It should be noted that if you are a Civil War (battles) buff, there aren't many here, it is a story of a family of the Old South and how they cope. I think the character portrayals are all great. One may think Leslie Anne is a little sappy, while at the same time the strength of the story, but it does work. I highly recommend.

VHS : Aerosmith: Big Ones You Can Look at
First off I must begin this review that this is a good collection to start off with if you do not yet own any previous Aerosmith albums. Admittedly there are other good songs that Aerosmith made that were recorded after this album (such as "don't want to miss a thing"). However as an earlier review posted stated this is a good place to start if you would like to hear some of their 80's and early 90's stuff at a budget price. Some of the songs that I really liked on this cd are "love in an elevator" (9 out of 10),"rag doll" (10 out of 10),"Janie's Got a Gun" (8 out of 10), "Crazy" (9 out of 10), and "Living on the Edge" (10 out of 10). There are various good songs on this cd but for me the songs I just listed are some of the reasons why I still have this cd after first buying this cd when I was stationed ... Read More
