VHS : Lion King
Lion King is a story that can be seen from many good perspectives. It can also be alleged that it is not suitable for children, because of the violent scenes it contains. However, most of its content deals with the example of Mufaza to his son, example which lingers in his memory. That alone is enough reason to rate the movie as excellent. Besides, with a good review from the parents, this movie can leave much good in younger hearts about the realities of life. One of these is the sacrifice it involves to carry on anything that is of good report. All minds need direction, especially those of children. My advice is that parents, as they view certain scenes with their children, should make appropriate comments, so as to highlight the good in them. The movie is, then, appropriate for all audiences.

VHS : Man of the House
If you do not know about this movie, then you are about to be served with a treat unlike any treat you have ever received.

It stars Chevy Chase, who IMHO has just gotten funnier over the years, and Jonathan Taylor Thomas (the star of Home Improvement) as nutty people saying the zaniest things. Disney scores another home run with Man of the House, and the comedy grabs you by the throat from the very first scene and never loosens its grip.

If you've never seen any Chevy Chase movies (and what's wrong with you, if so?!) then this is definitely the one to see. He is very, very sarcastic which is my sense of humor too, and he has some of the funniest faces and zingers that you'd ever want to see/hear. But he has definitely met his match with the kid from Home Improvement, who delivers ... Read More

My two year old son loves this video. It keeps him so entertained. It is definately for younger kids though. It doesn't have too much going on where he can't follow along like some other videos that are geared for older children.

VHS : Where's Spot?
I'm really surprised by the poor reviews of this video! My son who just turned 2 years old- can't get enough of Spot and insists on watching Spot a couple of times a day. Although simple, I have found this video to be educational and great at teaching animals and things around the house. My son has learned several new words and now repeats them every time he sees the respected animal. I have purchased "Sweet Dreams Spot" and "Spot Goes to the Farm." This are both very good -- however this one seems to be the favorite!

VHS : Spot & His Grandparents Go to the Carnival
In my Spot's Magical Christmas review, I mentioned at the end that we'll see how this video holds up against it. Well, the video arrived two months ago and I kinda forgot about the review until now, which I shall state my thoughts.

Following the tradition of Spot's Magical Christmas, the characters in this special also has distinct voices (about as distinct they could get - some of the casts were doing double duty, but managed to pull it off well nevertheless) and their lips move to their speech. It kinda carries down the charm of Spot's Magical Christmas and has about the same format with a little extra humor thrown in and the fantasy stuff taken out - Spot happily heads over to his Grandpa's place, sings a song about how grandparents are great and such (lyrics and music sheet available on the activity ... VHS : Mary Cassatt - American Impressionist
Mary Cassatt - American Impressionist is a charming show. It gives people a look into how the American Impression Mary Cassatt may have lived and associated with those both in the artistic community and with her own family.

Set in Paris, Mary is trying to complete paintings for the Salon when her brother, his wife and children arrive and turn her world upside down. The stay of her brother and his wife is short but the children remain behind when the younger two become ill and break an arm. The eldest, Katherine, does not approve of her single aunt who paints and would clearly rather be back in Philadelphia socializing, attending parties, etc

Eventually the children decide to play matchmaker in hopes of getting Mary and Edgar Degas, who's art Mary admires, together.

In the end, Mary learns ... Read More
