Sure, we have a three year old at home. Now and then we watch TV together. Since watching movies with my kid is kind of new, I'm looking more closely at what to watch. Just about everything from Pixar and John Lassiter is some of the most inspired stuff I've come across.
The characters, the stories, the animation and the casting all create a high water mark not just for children's viewing but for every one.
"A Bugs Life" is certainly one of the better ones in the group. I can say this after several, and I mean several viewings.

This is a good movie! When I saw the couple held hostage by the convicts I had the urge to change into a superheroine. Even Kim Possible can put those guys in handcuffs, and take them to jail.Rufus can, bite their nose,so can Ron,Kim's too much of a lady.

VHS : Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Mamma's Hung You in the Closet and I'm Feelin' So Sad
A zany black comedy about a typical family consisting of a domineering mother (Rosalind Russell), two man-eating piranhas, several Venus flytraps, a baby son - aged twenty-five! (Robert Morse), a lecherous babysitter (Barbara Harris), and a father (Jonathan Winters) who just happens to be a stuffed corpse hanging in the closet!

Based on the hit play by Arthur L. Kopit, Oh Dad is a blending of riotous comedy with dramatic elements that move within close range of tragedy. Black-as-pitch, hysterical and sadly ignored upon its initial release, the film boasts a terrific cast headed by the brilliant Russell, (Auntie Mame), who has seldom been funnier as the acid tongued Madame Rosepettle. Right in step is the incandescent Ms. Harris reprising her stage role as Rosalie the hotel babysitter ... Read More

If you ever want to scare you kids from being a salesperson get this video. Hardcore "boiler room" selling at its finest/worst. Alec Baldwin at his best.

In the continuing series of `everyone has to start somewhere', here we are presented with Schlock (1973)...no, I'm not saying this film is schlock (okay, it is), but, in fact, that is the actual title of the movie (it was once known as The Banana Monster when Troma own the rights, but has since reverted back to its original name). But in terms of starting out in the biz, this was the first film written and directed by John Landis, the man behind such movies as Animal House (1978), The Blues Brothers (1980), and Trading Places (1983). Also, while not his first film, this does mark one of the first collaborations between legendary make-up artist Rick Baker and Landis, which would be followed up with great success in the popular movie An American Werewolf in London (1981).

The movie opens on a playground ... Read More

I remember LOVING this movie as a kid. Instead of Prince Charming being the knight in shining armor, it's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfelles who turn around and save *him*... I loved Lord Malice, Sunburn and Scowl the Owl (though I could never figure out why a guy like him would hang around someone who's *that* annoying). I could tell the film was pretty rare and was obviously not made by Disney.

I think a possible point of the film was feminine power, that the princess is just as capable of rescuing the prince as the other way around. The "Shadowman" adds a hint of mystery on their journey to the Realm of Doom (I would've liked to see more of this journey, they pretty much cut to the chase which was a mistake, there could've been some real character development along the way). The owl provides comic relief and ... Read More

Rainbow Brite is teh most wonderful childrens video made in the world. I used to own a copy until we moved from our old house and I lost it, or it never had even got packed and got left behind. I remember the sweet carefree childhood memories that were left with this most cherished movie, all the joy, exitment, and adventure. I would recomand this video to anyone who has a wonderful, kind and loving heart.
Thank you,

This movie is great for little girls about the age of 6. I babysit for one and she loved this movie. I think the idea of a rainbow heroine lights up their eyes. This movie is a good one to purchase for your daughter so don't hesitate to order it. The plotline is heartwarming and the ending is, as always in a kid movie, a good one. As the little gorl I babysit said, "Am I ever going to see one of rainbow brite's rainbows?" I said," I hope so" Now your child can see the rainbows, too.
