VHS : Yellow Submarine
What a shame,it seems that movie companies only release Beatle classics on a limited term!!! I'm sure that a 40th Anniversary Edition might easily be on the way but I don't know!!! I'm glad I bought a copy of it when it was in print, because it is no out of print and fetching high dollars on auction sites such as Ebay!!! This WAS a great release from MGM,nice vibrant Widescreen(although it was non-anamorpic,it was'nt to bad sice it was 1.66!)transfer,the soundtrack was awesome too!!! And this disc had some choice extras, although not overstuffed with them!!! Let's hope that with Blu Ray here, maybe a reissue is in the near future,as well as a new DVD,well, lets keep our fingers crossed!!! Is it All To Much to have this great film back in print to enjoy,or will the Blue Meanies keep it locked in ... Read More

VHS : Treasure Island (1990)
This is one of the best versions of "Treasure Island". It has a really wonderful cast with Charlton Heston, Oliver Reed, Christopher Lee and Christian Bale. To whom it may concern: please put this on DVD, nice extras would be commentary with Lee, Bale and director Fraser Heston.

i mean come on now, this is the second set that has arrived fallen apart,,,the book edition, in this and Dracula were unglued!Wow, i mean if it isn't the fiasco of the loose flippers in the Legacy set , its this mess.Karloff and Lugosi deserve better than the treatment they get from Universal, who seem only interested in making a quick buck!Universal sucks so bad it isn't even funny, the only reason i buy these is to show my loyalty to Karloff and Lugosi and the like and to honor them, not Universal dvds, what utter and complete garbage they produce!

VHS : Stalin (1992)
A true characterization of a truly pathetic individual. Historically, Stalin & Hitler were no more than two lost souls, losers in every way, that found a home in subjective, reactive rhetorical organizations.

Stalin used his power to turn his delusions into reality, and untold
horrors for the Russian people. This movie accurately portrays the
beast and his place in history.

The film opens in early 20th century London. A cloaked figure attacks and kills a person walking on the sidewalk. Another unsolved murder. Women are demonstrating for the vote - they put on a song and dance for equal rights! There is a protest from onlookers and comic violence. Bruce Adams is the reporter who covers this happening. Tubby and Slim are employed as Bobbies to study police methods. Dr. Jekyll is studying the human mind so as to control mankind for its betterment. Does he have a secret in his basement? Is there a serum that brings out the bestial nature of mankind? [Was this story a parable for alcohol prohibition?]

Tubby and Slim see someone climbing up the side of a theater; they think it is a burglar. Tubby searches for the burglar and sees the monster. There is a comic chase, but the monster ... Read More

Bride of Frankenstein is one, if not THE best, Universal horror movie made in their golden era of the 1930's. A direct sequel to Frankenstein, but in nearly every way a better movie. This is a much more artistic work. Sure there is still some hammy acting and the not so special effects are, by comparison to today laughable.

However, as a movie, this has many things that most modern horror films lack. The cinematography is marvellous. There are dozens of moments in the film where I wished I could have stopped the DVD and taken a copy of the image on the screen. No more so than near the end when the bride appears. The lighting in this scene combined with the photography produces a marvellous almost surreal effect. It also has a few moments of great pathos, most noteably when the monster meets the blind hermit. ... Read More

I finally gave up waiting for the DVD so I bought the VHS tape. It's a great story and the usual superb performance by Diane Lane. I have all of her movies that are available including three others only available on VHS (National Lampoon Goes to the Movies, Lady Beware, and Priceless Beauty). A movie can't possibly be bad if she's in it. Priceless Beauty came close but Ms. Lane managed to salvage even that one.

D-day had failed. Kennedy is president, Joseph sr. that is, not John. Hitler is about to celebrate his 75th birthday. That was all the exposition I needed. It's springtime for Hitler in Germainia. We lost. It is the early 60's & the cold war has taken a hard left turn from what we know happen. The Germans are still fighting the Russians. Hitler wants a peace treaty with The United States. It is about to happen. President Kennedy is coming to Berlin & bringing a lot of reporters. One problem: the Final Solution, what we now know as the Holocaust has never been made public. Any living officials with first hand knowledge are being bumped off. One of these murders becomes public & has to appear to be investigated. SS officer March (Rutger Hauer) is the police detective assigned to sweep it all under the rug. He is a ... Read More

This video does an outstanding job of conveying historically accurate truths about the hideous results of atheist-based communism like extremely few books and videos do. I'm concerned that other reviewer's criticism of the non-Hollywood quality may keep you from viewing it. This video was so professionally done that it was broadcast during prime time by CBS. Watch it and gain wisdom. Five stars from me.
