VHS : Fast Getaway
There are several car chases in this film, and they are
all great, considering it's a B movie!

The dialogue gets lame in between all the action. Count the # of times Corey says " Pop " in this film....could be a good drinking game?

Cory Haim brings alot of energy to this film, but he appears
to be high on coke! It's a manic, high strung performance.

He was made to be in B films, with his good looks and limited
range. The high points are a great bridge getaway, a revenge
plot with a crazy blonde, and a jail break.

The romance/sex scene with Corey and his blonde bombshell
is non-existant. Marcia Strassman of Welcome Back Kotter shows
up, and brings some stronger acting to the film, which the
other ... Read More

True Grit (Special Collector's Edition)This is the movie John Wayne won an Oscar for his performance and well deserved it truely is! Excellent script, excellent directing and most of all, excellent acting. The movie was perfectly cast and all the actors delivered their best. The most beautiful locations added to the movie presentation. They have a featurette on this dvd about the location of the movie---and it is a real town. All I can say is the entire movie is so impressive and I would recommend this dvd as a must have for any film library.

VHS : Aladdin and the King of Thieves (Disney Presents)
The big day has finally arrived. The entire kingdom has turned out for Aladdin (Scott Weinger) and Jasmine's (Linda Larkin) wedding. Thanks to the Genie (Robin Williams), it looks to be a spectacular day.

But then tragedy strikes. The 40 Thieves attack the wedding and try to steal just one present. Yes, that's right. But that present turns out to be an oracle that will answer one question. And through that oracle, Aladdin learns that his father is still alive.

What he doesn't realize is that his father, Cassim (John Rhys-Davies), is the leader of the thieves. The family reunion pits Aladdin against Sa'luk (Jerry Orbach) who isn't happy with the way that Cassim has been running the gang. How will Jasmine react to the identity of Aladdin's father? Can Aladdin reform ... Read More

VHS : Little Big Man
Dustin Hoffman is great in this classic Western. It's one of the best Westerns out there. Hoffman plays a cavalry man who ends up living among the Native Americans. It's a bitter story of how poorly and unjustly were these people treated. Unfortunately, they're not faring much better today and the government does not treat them better either. There are some truths in this movie that we're still not willing to face and come to grips with today. This should be a required material for school kids and grown ups alike. We'd be much more grateful for what we have instead of complaining for what we can't buy if we thought about these things more.

VHS : Home of the Brave
One of the most interesting movies that I always wanted to see was this movie. I thought Lloyd Bridges would play this troop dogging on James Edwards character, but come to find out that Bridges and Edwards characters knew each other as children, and though Bridges is accepting of him, the others are more cagey of him. A very interesting character study on a platoon of soldiers in a precarious and delicate situation. I wish it was on DVD by now but sadly, it hasn't made the transition yet. I was blessed to see it on TCM (Turner Classic Movies)some years back.

8.Catlow starring: Yul Brynner, Richard Crenna, Leonard Nimoy, Daliah Lavi, Jo Ann Pflug

VHS : Catlow
Catlow is a good western about the friendship between two men; Bijah Catlow(Yul Brynner)and Ben Cowan(Richard Crenna). Based on the novel by Louis L'Amour, Catlow tells the story of Cowan's pursuit of his childhood friend Bijah Catlow. Brynner as Catlow is completely believable as the amiable outlaw that L'Amour wrote about. Good action sequences and quick dialogue. Sometimes a little confusing if you haven't read the book, which is better than the movie. Watch out for a bizarre and unnecessary Leonard Nimoy butt scene! However Nimoy plays a decent gunman although he has very few lines.

VHS : Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas (Walt Disney Gold Classic Collection)
The joys and lessons of Christmases past are revisited in three enchanting, lesson-filled tales featuring Disney's favorite cartoon characters - in the first story, Donald's nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie remember the time they wished Christmas was every day and it came true! As they relive Christmas day over and over again, the fun soon turns monotonous and boring, and along the way, the boys learn the true meaning of Christmas.

In the second story, Goofy and his son Max confront the 'myth' of Santa Claus - Goofy is a true believer and Max turns out to be skeptic after next door neighbor Pete tells him Santa isn't real. It takes a lot of effort and some magic before Max comes around:)

In the last story, Mickey and Minnie play down-on-their luck sweethearts whose purse strings won't stretch ... Read More

VHS : Superman & Mole Men
Being 24 years old, I'm not a part of the baby boomer generation. I didn't see this film when it was brand new, but I am a fan of Superman. George Reeves plays the part of Clark Kent perfect, especially looking really good as Superman. The real stars of this movie are the little people who played the mole men. They never say anything in the movie, but a lot of expression is used and it is easy to feel sorry for them when they are treated wrong.

The story starts off a little slow, but eventually gains a lot of momentum and stays that way to the end. I was sucked in to the story, when the mole man is stuck in the burning house, inside I was screaming "Where are you Superman?! Help this guy out!" It is that good and you don't have to be from the previous generation to enjoy the film. It can be enjoyed by anyone, ... Read More
