I really enjoyed this movie cause it did show the Indian grayeagle a kind person. I loved it when each day she beth learned about who she is and not what she was lead to believe. I loved it cause it was a clean movie withno language what so ever. I wish they had more scences for each time they moved from one place and at the end a little longer with chief running wolf her father that she found out about. I hope for more movies like this one especially about the Indians

While the bear special effect definitely needed help it's a pretty fantastic movie for the whole family. Definitely one of those types of movies that you remember from your childhood and want desperately. It was definitely worth purchasing and my kids love it.

As always we received the DVD's in record time from USA. Both DVD's were excellent and as they were from Louis L'Amour's books which my husband has all of his books, we did enjoy the films.

We like buying off Amazon as we know we will get a good product.

Thank You

The brothers (played by Strother Martin, Ernest Borgnine, Jack Elam)as mentioned in other reviews, are "slap stick" at times. Welch's make-up was too heavy for the time period, and her dress un-buttoned down her navel while she is cooking, was a bit much. With all that it is still a very good movie and Robert Culp's best acting. He could teach me to shoot a gun anytime!

One of the better Welch movies, I have this on VHS and have watched it over and over!

VHS : Sacred Ground
This is a very good movie and one of my all time favorites. It is based on a rugged settler who builds his home on a piece of land that is designated by the Indians as their sacred burial ground. Unbeknownst to the settler and his Indian bride, he weathers attacks by the angry Indians who try to push him from their land. The setting takes place in a wooded, mountainous region of the United States and is very picturesque. The movie is filled with action and the actors are very realistic and believable. The settler shows a keen wit and is able to ward off multiple attacks at his homestead and while on horseback on the trail. He is later joined by a mountain man who helps negotiate with and is later killed by the Indians in an attck at the homestead. If you enjoy Indian history and want something that the entire family ... Read More

VHS : Ransom of Red Chief (1975)
After teaching O. Henry's story, "The Ransom of Red Chief," I showed this video to my classes. It is difficult to catch the attention of this age student, but they loved the video. Many even were laughing out loud at the shenanigans of the characters, particularly when the child "got over" on the adults. The actors, particularly Jack Elam, appear to be perfectly cast. This version stays true to the original short story.

VHS : Support Your Local Sheriff
By 1969, revolution was in the air in the United States. All kinds of institutions were under question or attack. So it was a perfect time for the funniest spoof ever of the heroic Western. James Garner stars in "Support Your Local Sheriff" as Jason McCullough, who rides into the frontier town of Calendar. Calendar was a sleepy little outpost until the discovery of gold a short time before McCullough's arrival. Then all h--- broke loose. He's soon persuaded to take up the sheriff's badge, which is vacant (and dented) since all the previous sheriffs have been killed or fled. He insists he's really on his way to Australia, but doesn't seem to be in any real hurry to get there. Garner's charm, timing and delivery, as ever, are magnificent, and he's surrounded by a first-rate supporting cast.

There's a love interest, ... Read More

VHS : Cannonball Run
Cool concept, great cast, awesome movie poster...incredibly lame movie.

A lot of things could've been forgiven about THE CANNONBALL RUN if the movie had only been funny. But it's not. It's just an astounding waste of talent that ends with the amusing outtakes proving that the people who made the movie had a better time than the people who paid to see the movie.

A good friend of mine despised this movie because he said, "It's like watching a party I didn't get invited to." He took it a little too personally but you get the idea.

The shame is that I really love so many people in this: Burt Reynolds and Dom DeLuise look like they're having a blast, Farrah Fawcett, Addrienne Barbeau and much-too-brief Valerie Perrine never looked hotter, Roger Moore was spoofing 007 during the peak of his tenure ... Read More

From virtually the opening scene, this celluloid comic book will take you right back to Saturday afternoons with the smell of popcorn, flying paper cups, noisy things rolling down the aisles and the kid behind with his feet at the back of your head. This is NOT a "mature" western. The quick-draw, eagle-eyed feats of shooting have to be seen to be believed (if you're 10 years old), the story line, dialogue, and multi-colored ranks of Mexican federales who serve as targets, all provide an aura around this movie that's guaranteed to take you back to the wide-eyed kid who could barely reach the lady in the booth with his quarter.
While I'm searching for more mature westerns these days, I enjoyed this one for its nostalgic value alone. That, and that toothy Lancaster grin that needs its own listing in the credits of this movie.
