We very much enjoyed this movie. Gregory Peck is a strong actor in this movie, as he was in his other movies. It follows the family business via the one adult child in the family actively involved. Highly recommend.

I wanted to like this movie & I know that it's heart is in the right place, but it is probably the dumbest movie ever made. Dumb as in profoundly lacking in intelligence. As in trivializing something meaningful. I can't express how much I didn't like this.

3.To Kill a Mockingbird (Widescreen) starring: Gregory Peck, John Megna, Frank Overton, Rosemary Murphy, Ruth White (II)

VHS : To Kill a Mockingbird (Widescreen)
A movie that is just plain well-acted. The ensemble supports Mr. Gregory Peck as if his life depended on it. Mr. Brock Peters becomes more than the average mongrel can stand: an innocent man of a shade other than pink, and justice won't be served because of the mongrels. But criticizing this film would be like shooting a mockingbird, wouldn't it? This is another dumbed-down attempt at looking at the mongrel world from a bystander's perspective.

VHS : Spellbound
Not the greatest Hitchcock film, but ironically it has four of Hitchcock's greatest sequences, all of them mind benders as befits a crime story about headshrinkers gone rotten. The famous Salvador Dali dream sequence is everything it has become famous for, a spectacularly subtle and understated seduction sequence - itself almost a dream - and the famous single frame "red flash" at the climactic confrontation. The film is in black and white yet Hitchcock and Selznick induced the company to insert a single or pair of red frames at humongous expense in a subliminal bit that freaked the audiences. This is called power in Hollywood. For the next 40 years nobody restored the red flash - until Turner and Criterion did the disk - too ridiculously expensive for B&w prints and VHS.
And the score - fabulous! ... Read More

The realism in this film is what makes it one of my all time favorites. The footage of real B17s in operation; the real war footage while on a mission, and the story itself are as good as it gets. The extra commentary on the second DVD is a wonderful addition of insights to making the film.

7.Terror in the Aisles starring: Donald Pleasence, Nancy Allen, Fred Asparagus, Lainie Cooke, Joel S. Rice

This is a neat flick the way they had spliced clips from horror flicks together the way they did, especially from popular old flicks like Psycho, Halloween, Halloween 2, Friday The 13th:Part 2, The Fog, Dressed To Kill, Carrie, The Omen, Poltergeist, etc., so I don't see what's taking them so long to put "Terror In The Aisles" on DVD, because I would've bought this flick a long time ago if it was on DVD.

Just a great old movie, I wanted to see the performance Bobby Darin got the nomination for best Support, and it sure was a fantastic performance. Tony Curtis was great fun in this movie.

VHS : Moby Dick
Released in '56, `Moby Dick' is one of the film classics of the fifties. Surprisingly the film quality is rather drab at times with the appearance of old newsreel footage. This is generally the case with the shots aboard the Pequot showing billowing sails or the ship from a distance. Yet at other times it's quite artistic and mesmerizing such as; the close-up portrait cameos of the old women standing on the dock, or the brooding sermon delivered by Orson Welles at the beginning.

However there are two things that raise this film to a higher, mythic level. Those two things are the magnificent performance by Gregory Peck as Captain Ahab and of course the white whale. Peck delivers a signature performance as the obsessive and defiant sea captain willing to forfeit not only his life but his soul for one more opportunity ... Read More
