VHS : The Lion King (A Walt Disney Masterpiece)
The item's content was of course, excellent. The movie did come unhinged during shipping, which caused a loose, shaking noise inside before I opened it. I had to prevent the movie from hitting the floor when I opened it. Haven't actually watched the movie to inspect visual damage....more to come.

VHS : Mulan (Disney's Masterpiece)
Except, they do still sing--as sort of narration for their emotions. The songs are highly unmemorable (as I sit here writing this, I can only remember the line, "I'll make a man out of you," which is from the very worst song ever including in a Disney film. By the way, will Disney ever have a "training session" that will last more than a couple minutes and that isn't put to a song? They did that to this movie, Hercules, Tarzan (who also grew into an adult instantaneously), and Beauty and the Beast (in that Belle changes her mind about the Beast during a song). One more really bad thing about Mulan--Mushu is a total hinderance. I'm not just talking about his pop-culture mouth (which someone should have popped), but that he in fact causes more problems than he solves. Would it really be so much to ... Read More

I have this on VHS and I watched it all the time growing up. I don't know exactly why this movie is so great, it just is. I still make references to it sometimes and no one else knows what I'm talking about, but that is how influential it was on my childhood. I really wish they would put this on DVD since I don't use a VHS player anymore!

Favorite line: when Buster says he can't marry both of the gator's daughters because it's bigamy the alligator says, "No son, thats big o' me!"

My three year old absolutely adores this movie and watches it over and over again. I love the music and don't mind it when she does watch it so many times. Compared to the music in some of the children's videos she watches, this one is very enjoyable to listen to and when the songs get stuck in my head, as they often do when I hear it so many times in a row, I don't mind at all. Beats the heck out of "I'm the map, I'm the map, I'm the map..."! I would highly recommend this movie as it is very entertaining for the little ones who seem to enjoy it every time they watch!

While Disney has not been producing much of high quality animated films these days, few will deny that in the late 1980's and mid 1990's, the Mouse House was in its heyday. After a period of turmoil without their former founder, the company had risen to stardom with its 1989 musical, THE LITTLE MERMAID. The success of that film led to other equally acclaimed masterpieces, notably BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, which was fortunate enough to win the Oscar for Best Picture. In the period between these two works of art, though, the company released two animated features that were pleasant diversions but didn't ignite ticket sales at the box office. One of them was THE RESCUERS DOWN UNDER, a non-musical sequel to a mediocre 1970 film (which actually improved on its predecessor in many ways). The other--and even lesser ... Read More

I got this for my 4 year old son, who loves trains. His preschool teacher read the book and showed this movie to the class and he had to have it! I lucked up and found it here on amazon for such a great price. The seller was very honest and the movie is in perfect playing condition. Still going strong! Very satisfied overall. My little boy is too!
