VHS : The Alamo - Thirteen Days To Glory
Yes, this has faults, many glaring. But it was created for the Texas Sesquicentennial celebration and was aired during the time of year of the battle (if I remember correctly). It was made to be entertaining and appeal to the young people (Alex Baldwin; the young lovers-the girl was played by a former Miss Texas, I think; the marvelous Raul Julia, who practically stole the show), who have to study Texas history twice before they graduate there. As a fifth-generation native Texan (currently exiled in Georgia) I love the Alamo story and its various conflicting legends, understanding that because of the veil of history and the way that Santa Ana tried to obliterate the battle site we may never know the entire truth of the matter. What we can know are certain specifics. The actors portraying Bowie and Crockett ... Read More

VHS : The Hunchback of Notre Dame
I was appalled at this film. The female main character of this story is a gypsy woman, which wouldn't be a problem but given her attire and manner, she acts more like an exotic dancer and is by no means a role-model for little girls. Her dress looks like it will fall off during much of the show and the hunchback has a bunch of stone character friends that come to life. They do one skit where they make a joke of the Catholic pope and the pope figure head pops off. The only good character in the film is the side priest who tries to defend the hunchback in the beginning.

The film is also very long for children and I just thought given the female character manner, it is not proper for children to watch. I don't have problem with most kids films but this one had too many problems in my opinion. Little ones might ... Read More

VHS : Lilo & Stitch
Lilo & Stich is such a lovely film! It tells the highly original story of a little Hawaiian girl who is orphaned encountering an experimental creature from outerspace and quickly befriending it. The animation is exquisite and the voice cast are on top form throughout both the comedic and adventurous elements of the story. The music is magnificent and very fitting to the film as most of it is Hawaiian influenced and features Hawaiian singers and instruments. An excellent if often overlooked Disney film that will touch your heart and also leave you with a smile on your face by the end.

VHS : Beauty and the Beast - The Enchanted Christmas
My 2 year old LOVES Beauty and the Beast, so I thought this would be a great movie for her. I was very disappointed with this movie. The beginning half is fairly cute, but Belle does a horrible job at singing the songs. The second half of the movie is very dark and the organ character is too much. The "Don't Fall in Love" song by the organ is absolutely horrible and dumb. I don't think the movie stayed true to the beast's character either. They made him a little too angry this time. He throws Belle in the dungeon and tells her that she will rot there forever. I still gave this three stars because my daughter was entertained, but I don't really like her watching it. I don't recommend buying this movie.

VHS : Nova - Trillion Dollar Bet
This is the most engaging and informative video on the subject of trading and speculation that exists. As Jesse Livermore stated, Speculation is as old as the hills. This video captures many of the aspects of speculation and shows that the same pitfalls that small individual investors get tripped up on are the same ones that multi-billion dollar hedge funds get tripped up on. Human nature is the same at all levels. Controlling human nature creates extraordinary returns.

VHS : Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World
Like nearly everyone else, I was not impressed with this movie at all. My nearly 3 year old loves Pocahontas and will sit thru the ENTIRE movie over and over but was bored within 30 minutes of watching this. To be honest, I was over this movie from the beginning. In the first one, Pocahontas spoke normally and in this one she sounds like she is just learning English. That just annoyed me throughout the whole movie. The ending was disappointing as well.
