I ordered a DVD from seaside cinema and it arrived in pristine condition and in time for Father's day.

It was easy to order and the price was much less than other providers.

Thanks

Terrific movie with another fine performance from Vincent Price. Also an early appearance of Charles Bronson is an added treat.

VHS : Raid on Entebbe
This film is a classic and the most accurate telling of this thrilling rescue. The cast is terrific. While you know how it ends the docudrama style maintains its suspense. A MUST for the serious movie buff.

The phone rings. A voice on the other end quotes Frost "The woods are lovely dark and deep, but I have promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep". This triggers Soviet Manchurian Canidate killers to carry out missions programmed long ago when the cold war was hot. Enter Charles Bronson, Soviet KGB agent to save the day and prevent WWIII with his double agent femme fatal Lee Remick in a race against time to find the evil Dr. Strangelove type villian.

VHS : Sea Wolf
You don't need the summery of Jack London's story about Captain Wolf Larsen aka `'The Sea Wolf' and two survivors of shipwreck Humphrey Van Weyden and Flaxen Brewster. Other reviewers have already done it, so please read them. I only add my feelings about the made-for-TV production, which I think could be better with different casting.

There are two things that I cannot understand about the production. Charles Bronson might be an ideal choice for the Captain if the film had been made during the 70s or 80s, This film was shot in 1993, which means Bronson is already over 70 years-old, while Christopher Reeve was just over 40. It is clear that if it really comes to the hand-to-hand battle, there would be no chance for Bronson or his character to win it especially with some other hostile crew around ... Read More

VHS : Christmas in Connecticut
Our whole family loves this movie. Barbara Stanwyck plays a writer who pretends to be married with a baby and pretends she's an expert at cooking, sewing, and overall home-making. Her boss decides that she should have a recovering military man to her country home (which she doesn't have) for Christmas so he can experience cozy home-life over the holidays. Then, her boss manages to invite himself along, too! She feels sure she's just lost her job and this will be the worst Christmas ever.... but a male friend of hers (who has been pestering her to marry him for a while) convinces her to marry him and they can have everyone to HIS home in the country. Of course, she doesn't love him.... and she ends up in love with the military man.... It's one problem after another, making this movie a real hoot!

VHS : Death Wish 4
We, Sid the Elf, are staying in the world of Death Wish for as long as we can. This week we took the wonderful ride that was Death Wish 4. The Death Wish series seems to get better as they go along. Its like chicks: 3 is better than 2 and 4 is better than 3. By the time Sid gets done watching 5 in a few weeks, he might wet himself from sheer amazement and amusement.

First, Sid would just like to get to know Bronson. If it's Sid he says "This guy's got it." The man made maybe THE defining guy movie of all-time: The Dirty Dozen, then he made the Death Wish Series which are just cinematic pieces of exquisite art. Now, Sid's sources tell him, the guy has his own island in the Caribeen. Sid can only imagine what goes on on that island. Probably a lot of strange, strange things because Bronson has got to be ... This was a nice family movie that we all enjoyed. Nice romantic story and good music. Also would be a good movie to watch at Christmas even though the title would make you think it is more a summer movie. Our five year old daughter also enjoyed the movie which is a plus for us.

I dig most Bronson movies anyway so I'm a bit biased. A fav of mine from the 80s and I have not seen it since then. What I want to know is why is this selling for $47 ??? Oh well I'll have to wait a little longer. Sorry this was not a review but just me venting. A movie I will get someday but just not right now for this price. A good 3 star movie.

10.Death Wish 3 starring: Charles Bronson, Deborah Raffin, Ed Lauter, Martin Balsam, Gavan O'Herlihy

VHS : Death Wish 3
I love this movie. I did not know whether to give it one star because it is so utterly terrible, or five stars because it is so wonderfully and unintentionally ludicrous. Hey: maybe Michael Winner had his tongue tucked firmly in his cheek and decided to kick out the credibility jams on this one, and deliberately make a stupifyingly ridiculous movie. I don't think Cannon's producers Globus and Golan are American or native English speakers; they might not have even been astute enough to figure out what the sly Winner was up to, or care!
It certainly appears Bronson may not have either, as his performance as the world's most elusive and successful vigilante is as sober and serious as ever. In this film masterpiece, druggies, thugs, rapists, vicious gang members, sadistic bikers, pimps, prostitutes, and just plain mean people, irregardless ... Read More
