The CD was very faulty, with jumps & starts & stops. The subtitles were several minutes behind the audio. We have finally given up watching it, & since I have waited too long to return it, we will just throw it away.

This movie I consider among my favorites. It is a true story of a doctor who ended up on Java and saved many wounded men who were rejected entrance into a ship leaving for safety because they could not get up and walk. A little known, little watched movie, but classic Bing Crosby and Betty Hutton. (By the way, my mom was in the movie as one of the singing WAVEs, so I am a bit biased).

This movie is not worth purchasing or watching. It is NOTHING like the mini-series, "Young Catherine" starring Julia Ormond in 1991. I returned it. It seems that the mini series is unavailable at this time in (true) DVD format. If it ever becomes available it is the production to watch concerning the life and times of "Catherine the Great".

I'm watching this right now on cable and it is an unbelievable piece of holy cow! The long review below is right on, so many plot holes! I found myself making MST3K comments throughout the whole thing.

I got this movie in a three pack with other Pryror and Wilder movies. Needless to say this is the worst of the bunch. This movie is not really all that funny and is a bit confusing. I dont recommend this movie to anyone who wants too see a comedy. Stir Crazy or Hear No Evil See No Evil is a much better route.

I love horror movies and good vs evil themes. However this movie was really disappointing. Not scary, not unique, and very dated. Doesn't hold up to classic horror movies or more current ones. Instead, check out Jeeper Creepers, Mothman Prophesies, but don't waste your time here.
