VHS : 8 Seconds
After being directed by Amazon's recommendation to "8 Seconds," and reading the reviews, I thought that this would be an enjoyable film and purchased it. I am not a big rodeo fan, but I do enjoy them once in a while; and I have been friends with several bull riders. While I enjoyed the film, I cannot say that it really helped me to know more about Lane Frost (portrayed by Luke Perry), his life, career, his relationships with other performers, or his marriage. Indeed, after watching the film, I found myself looking up more information about Lane Frost on the internet to help me make more sense out of the movie.

What I missed most in the film was the sense of Lane's apparent true love for both his wife and for bull riding. They are essentially implied; that is, the viewer must assume ... Read More

VHS : A Night in Heaven
The premise of this movie is too hoaky to be believed, isn't it? Christopher Atkins, known best as Richard from The Blue Lagoon, makes some smart remark in class and has his teacher fail him. His teacher, Lesley Ann Warren, goes out with some friends to see some male strippers and - surprise! - HE is one of them. Then they have an affair.

I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry. Half of me is convinced that this is all just some weird dream and no one actually put this on paper, let alone made a whole movie out of this. The other half of me is disgusted with whoever gave this the go ahead. It's just too hilarious to believe, but it's real. Recommend it? Well, I guess I could. If you're looking for something campy and silly, it's certainly that. Sure, have fun with it.

This is the best "camp" erotic film in the past quarter century, hands down. Not only is it a guilty pleasure for viewers of lesbian acts, but it also shows Kevin Bacons acting skills, which aren't the highest to begin with (he was also the Executive Producer), which probably explains why we get a gratuitous shot of his penis.
I think the true shinning point of the film, is Bill Murray's off-script banter as Matt Dillons laywer. How they got him into this blatant flesh romp is a total wonderment to myself, but without him, I'd be laughing for ALL the wrong reasons.
If you're looking for beautiful scenery of both Florida, and the nakedness of Denise Richards and a rather good looking for her age Theresa Russell, then you will never miss with this over-the-top indulgence in camp film making history.

VHS : Trick or Treats
The cover looked pretty decent, depicting a ripped Trick Or treats bag with something bloody scratching its way out. It is a total yawn fest with only "scratch your head" cameos by the Names (Steve Railsback, David Carradine, Peter Jason, Carrie Snodgress) to give it interest. Seems the director came out of the Al Adamson school, it shows.
A baby sitter is stuck watching over a young brat on Halloween night who keeps playing vicious pranks on her. To add to her trouble the boy's deranged father has escaped from an asylum and is planning on making a visit.

The tape box says this mess of a film runs 90 minutes, but the film really only runs 75 minutes. And even then you can feel the padding.
