I am a true-blood, die-hard fan of Barrie's original Pan, and inconsistencies and the ways modern adaptations/sequels/prequels can skew the original concept usually bug me. It's easy to be put off by the premise of Peter growing up. Of course he would never grow up to be a stuffy businessman! Even so, I can't help but like this movie to some extent. This may sound kind of cheesy, but they way I've come to regard it is not so much as a literal "when Peter grew up" story, but kind of more metaphorical... playing towards the idea that we all have a bit of Pan-ness in us, finding your inner child etc etc. Does that make sense? Maybe I just say that to justify not completly hating it, lol. It's not the best movie out there, but there's no denying it's a fun one.

VHS : Mermaids
If you want to know what Mermaids is all about plot-wise, there are dozens of reviews to tell you that, but as for me, I'm here to gush praises on one of my favorite movies ever! When I was a teen I loved this movie to death! I saw it a few weeks back and you know what, it's still pretty much wonderful! When I think of this film I think of the good old days, not the pre-upheaval 1960's Mermaids depicts, I mean my own good old days of the early '90's when I'd watch this movie all the time, and life was so darn good. Mermaids is just an awesome movie, I don't see how anybody can NOT be enchanted with it, and that's really all I've got to say about it. :-)

VHS : Edward Scissorhands
I saw this wonderful movie in 1990 when it first came out. I was already a Tim Burton fan of sorts, but this made me a Burton fanatic. I saw it first with my wife, and I remember thinking at the very beginning, when Danny Elfman's haunting, beautiful score was only a few notes old, that I was going to love this film. And I did. It just hit me right in the heart, in the most vulnerable, deepest part of my soul. I know that sounds pretentious, but it's the best I can do with my limited writing ability. Now understand, I was 39 years old at the time, a pipefitter/welder by trade, certainly not someone people would think of as "sensitive" or "artistic" by nature. I've been in more than my share of fistfights, ride a Harley, and love guns, power tools, and anything that explodes. But by the end of Edward Scissorhands, ... Read More

VHS : Deconstructing Harry
Getting to know Woody Allen's filmography as of late has been a real trip, and while there have been some misses for me, for the most part I have become a real fan of his work. `Deconstructing Harry' may very well be one of my favorites. The film is an uproarious look at the struggle one makes to create something, about the fact that fiction truly imitates life and that life, in its rawest of forms, is truly remarkable.

Woody Allen stars as Harry Block, a famous writer who is suffering from a serious case of writers block. While he's struggling with this artistic roadblock he is also presented with the honor of being the center of a University tribute, as the school that once threw him out wants to give him an award. Now, more than ever, Harry is faced with his own slew of insecurities as he contemplates ... Read More

VHS : Leprechaun 3
WOW! What a joy/scare Leprechaun 3 is...I went into this movie
thinking it was to be the worst of all times just to have it being
the best of ALL times. This is funny and very SCARY at the same time
and our beloved GHOUL is in my hometown of Vegas...Does it get any
better than that???? YOU BET IT DOES!!!! This movie is miles
ahead of the not to scary Texas Chainsaw Massacre(74) and
more plot driven than the overrated EXORCIST. This brilliant
HORROR film is like a roller coaster that never lets up and
not as tedious and slow as Crapenters HALLOWEEN! Make sure to
buy this GEM and not rent for you will be glued to your seat
and not yawning like most people did with the badly acted
SHINING...... This has scares at every corner and brings you
the TERRIFYING ... Read More

7.Switched at Birth starring: Bonnie Bedelia, Brian Kerwin, John M. Jackson, Eve Gordon, Judith Hoag
directed by: Waris Hussein

VHS : Switched at Birth
Switched at Birth is a wonderful, highly emotional movie that will tug at your heart strings. It's based on the true story of two baby girls who were switched in the hospital shortly after birth. The saddest thing about this story is that everyone is a victim, and everyone is innocent. There is a bitter custody battle, but there is no "bad guy" involved. It's hard to imagine all the hard luck these two families went through, and apparently are still going through today. This is the type of movie you can watch over and over.

VHS : Woman in Black (1989)
Herbert Wise's "The Woman in Black" is not a particularly well-known horror film, yet there are nearly 140 reviews of it on this Web site. That gives you an idea of the impact this DVD has on anyone who has ever seen it. It begins and proceeds quietly, it contains no gore, it would bore the life out of people whose idea of a great horror film is "Hostel" or "Saw." Yet for those viewers who appreciate films such as "The Innocents" or the original "Haunting," "The Woman in Black" is an obvious and unforgettable classic. The film's quietly foreboding atmosphere seeps into your bones and your brain, leading to a scene about three-quarters of the way through that contains more genuine terror in its sixty-second duration than all the multiple hours of the "Saw" movies combined. And that scene, in turn, prepares you for the devastating, take-no-prisoners ... Read More

I saw this movie a few days ago and i must say was caught off guard. I normally do not enjoy movies involving drugs and sex but this movie shows a different angle to that kind of life style. It makes us see it for what it is. Now i remember Frank Whaley back when he did that movie which put Target on the map by acting like a dork. Well he becomes a serious actor and plays his part with conviction in this movie. The lovely Natasha is very hot and if Frank was was to choose between the two to spend the night locked in a department store, sorry but Jennifer would lose out. It's a common story line but this movie takes it one step further by making it for what it is.

I picked up this VHS tape from a yard sale for 25 cent thinking it would make a good blank tape for recording at the very least. Now it is going into my collection and will watch ... Read More

VHS : Accidental Tourist
He's obviously a moron who must have watched the film half drunk. For proof of this, he states in his review that the main character, Macon -played by William Hurt- buys his dog, Edward, after his son's death and his divorce for companionship. If you watch the movie sober and with at least one eye open, it clearly shows that the dog belonged to his son and that's why Macon doesn't want to get rid of it even after it bites him, because Edward, the dog, is the last connection he has to his son. So don't let an unprofessional hack like Marshall Fine or other reviewers with questionable taste steer you away from this wonderful film. It delivers the perfect balance of comedy, drama, and romance with an amazing musical score by John Williams.
