VHS : The Color Purple
This movie has so many different aspects in it that I wanted to
study it. I have seen it on tv, but there is so many deep messages
in it that I wanted to study it. It is consumed with American culture-
especially from the black perspective. Several times I have discussed
things in the movie with my black friends.

2.Third World Cop starring: Paul Campbell (IV), Mark Danvers, Carl Bradshaw, Audrey Reid, Winston 'Bello' Bell
directed by: Chris Browne

VHS : Third World Cop
This is simply in response to the latest review made by "a viewer" about this film. I, quite simply, feel that the review has a level of narrow-mindedness about the film and recommend not basing your choice on their review. To state "do the world a favor and get rid of them" as well as saying that these criminals are "irredeemable and beyond any rehabilitation" is very prejudiced. The lack of restorative justice and the inability to find an effective deterrent is not necessarily the fault of the people who commit criminal acts, but is that of the state. Before saying that you wish that the cop was there to "take care of the hustlers and muggers that prey upon innocent visitors in (otherwise beautiful) places like Montego Bay and Negril" you should try to question why these muggers and hustlers ... VHS : Out of the Blue (1980) (Ws Coll)
Cebe Barnes (Linda Manz), when we first meet her, seems like an average kid with a happy childhood. She is all painted and made up to look like a clown and she is sitting on her daddy's lap while he drives her to school. We begin to see how wrong we are when Dad (Dennis Hopper) hands her his empty beer bottle so he can pop some pills all while driving. This causes him to take his eyes off the road and lose control of the vehicle leading to a devastating crash with a school bus that kills dozens of little children and sends him to jail for eight years leaving Cebe to fend for herself on the streets. She has a home and a mother but mom is more interested in screwing her boss and shooting up in the living room with Dad's old friends who she may also be sleeping with. Not wanting to stay in that environment ... Read More

4.Saps at Sea starring: Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy, Wally O'Connor, Robert McKenzie, Jack Perrin
directed by: Gordon Douglas
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : Saps at Sea
Though "Saps at Sea" (1940) looks like a pair of three-reel comedies stuck together, the result is undiluted Laurel and Hardy. This streamlined feature marked Stan and Ollie's last production for Hal Roach, with The Boys making the most out of thin material. Memorable appearances by Jimmy Finlayson, Rychard Cramer and Ben Turpin add to the fun. No classic, but far superior to the team's dispiriting post-Roach efforts.

5.Jesus Christ Superstar starring: Ted Neeley, Carl Anderson (II), Yvonne Elliman, Barry Dennen, Bob Bingham
directed by: Norman Jewison
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : Jesus Christ Superstar
JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR has wonderful music and the movie made from it is pretty close to perfect. Shot creatively on location in the Middle East and filled with expertly rendered visual symbolism this musical has a unique take on the last days of probably the most influential person to ever live. No matter what one's spiritual beliefs JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR can give the open minded viewer new insights into a life that changed the world.

6.Rapid Assault starring: John Maynard (III), Ted Monte, Joe Haggerty, Susan Fronsoe, Richard Gabai
directed by: Fred Olen Ray
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : Rapid Assault
Rapid assault is not just some low-budget straight to DVD hack-job. No, this is the type of film that gets deeper with each viewing. I owned a VHS copy of this, but I had to order the DVD. The special effects are spectacular, the story compelling...but most of all the acting is beyond compare. Dual direct hit, Captain!!!
