VHS : The Bastard; Part 1 of the Kent Family Chronicles
andrew stevens (son of stella stevens) stars as philip kent in this first mini-series based on the john jakes kent family novels.
stevens is a french boy who learns that he is the title person after finding out that his real father is an english nobelman and heads to england to claim his birthright. his fathers family doesn't intend to let him have anything and tries to have him killed. this causes philip to flee to america, under the name philip kent , and gets him involved in the fight for liberty.
this is a very good show, even if it mainly plays like a soap opera, and stevens is quite good as philip. give this one a chance and you may like it.

VHS : 10 Things I Hate About You
For all its hip dialogue and contemporary ideologies, "10 Things I Hate About You" uses a plot so ancient that the very thought of it conjures up images of studio executives passing out scripts made of papyrus scrolls. Amazingly enough, thanks to a few smart touches and a competent cast, the film retains an undeniable charm that is felt throughout most of the movie.

The chemistry between Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger is the high point of the film. Their romance is genuine and effective and at times I wished that their characters would head out for the horizon instead of staying locked down to the conventions of the story, which remains frustratingly faithful to the traditional boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl formula. Simultaneously, the screenwriters have also found ... Read More

VHS : 8 Seconds
After being directed by Amazon's recommendation to "8 Seconds," and reading the reviews, I thought that this would be an enjoyable film and purchased it. I am not a big rodeo fan, but I do enjoy them once in a while; and I have been friends with several bull riders. While I enjoyed the film, I cannot say that it really helped me to know more about Lane Frost (portrayed by Luke Perry), his life, career, his relationships with other performers, or his marriage. Indeed, after watching the film, I found myself looking up more information about Lane Frost on the internet to help me make more sense out of the movie.

What I missed most in the film was the sense of Lane's apparent true love for both his wife and for bull riding. They are essentially implied; that is, the viewer must assume ... Read More

VHS : The Tomb (1986)
The plot is creative, the language crude and Ms. Mummy "Michelle Bauer" the best evil princess you ever want to meet in this low budget B string horror film. But it is absolutely a cult classic. Some of the phrases like "do you have a light" toward the end are priceless. The music is good. If you want a entertaining evening just put it in the machine and watch. My only regret is it is not in DVD like the Phontom Empire.

VHS : Carousel (Rmst Thx)
A near perfect reproduction of the film. Would have liked a transfer from the Cinemascope 55 elements rather than just the Cinemascope. The Oklahoma disk offered a choice between the Todd AO and cinemascope versions. Todd AO is by far the best.

7.Command Decision starring: Clark Gable, Walter Pidgeon, Van Johnson, Brian Donlevy, Charles Bickford

VHS : Command Decision
One of the earliest attempts to show the politics and terrible strain on a leader's conscience as America debates the effectiveness of daylight bombing. Great dialogue, made more intense by Clark Gable, Walter Pidgeon, and Brian Donleavy. Not much in the way of plane shots.....I suggest Twelve O'Clock High for more of that, and we do not see the leaders crack as they do in Twelve O'Clock High. Not much in the way of extras.

VHS : Slaughter
I Remember when I saw the blaxploitation movie called Shaft and it was SOOO SLOW and BORING!! I was looking for a funny action packed black movies from the 70's!!! Then I saw Slaughter and guess what! My search was over!!

This movie is FUNNY AND WITH A VENGANCE!!!
I has CAR CHASES, LOTS OF SHOOTING, STUNTS, STREET FIGHTING, EXPLOTIONS AND PREETY LADIES!!!

For a low budget film this one have a good video quality and a good monaural sound, not to mention de widescreen with the big black boards.

P.S: Im glad that this movie has cool action scenes from the begining to the end!

Adios

VHS : Love Me Or Leave Me
This movie stars Doris Day and James Cagney possibly in their very finest performance. Day is quite different in her acting role which is very dramatic and well played out. Her singing is outstanding. Cagney is great as the insecure gangster too.
The plot, costumes, acting, and everything is superb. If you love Doris Day then this is the movie for you. It is one of those movies you can watch and discuss and then watch it over again. TWO THUMBS UP!!!!

VHS : How to Marry a Millionaire
These women will go to great lengths to land a rich husband, even if that means selling all they have, living on hot dogs, and going to high society parties to stake out the millionaires. The performances from all three of these actresses are amazing! You can't help but laugh at the silly things they say and do. I am a HUGE Marilyn Monroe fan, and it is one of my favorite movies with her in it, even though I wish she had a slightly bigger part. But hey-it's difficult to see more of her when they have to split the screen time between three. I highly recommend this movie!
