I have loved this movie ever since I was a young kid. It is a classic. I watch it every Christmas season just to get me in the spirit. We rarely get snow in South Carolina, but it helps to remind me a bygone days. It's just a fun little movie with some classic actors and actresses that are gone to movie heaven...at least, I hope.

Margaret Lawrence Sixy Three years ago, I saw this movie for the first time and have enjoyed watching it through the years. The song from the movie THE BELLS OF SAINT MARYS has alway been one of my favorite songs. When my husband and I was married in 1961, THE BELLS OF SAINT MARYS was played at our Wedding. During this Christmas season, families need to watch this movie and renew the story is brings, love, sharing, and giving of ones material things to better our neighbors.

Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn's chemistry keep this predictable, but likable comedy afloat. Hawn plays a rich selfish snob who's life needs purpose and Russell plays a blue collar guy who gives her life purpose. After a run in that leaves Russell stiffed for a job he does for Hawn, Russell finds a way to get paid and then some! The story is contrived to say the least, but the kids and the rest of the cast seem to be having fun in this slightly crude and cute comedy. The DVD is pretty basic with a trailer being it's only extra. The DVD transfer is good, nothing special, but the film is entertaining and fun.

1930's King of Jazz is the best of the early sound cycle of movie studio revues. Very few films shot completely in two-strip Technicolor survive - this is one of them. Warner Bros. probably made the most all-Technicolor films in the early sound era, but since most of them were Vitaphone the films have long since been lost in most cases. The 1929 and 1930 early sound revues were made by the studios primarily to showcase their talent in an all-talking setting. MGM's "Hollywood Revue of 1929" started the cycle, and did a pretty good job.
