VHS : Tae-Bo Workout (4 Pack: Basic, Instructional, Advanced, 8-minute Workout)
I get stuck in a rut of routine workouts where I find myself not obtaining results for as much as I work out. I thought I would try kickboxing (something different) and had heard that this particular Tae Bo series (the orignal) of workouts was hard and challenging but great results for those that stick with it. I am addicted. These workouts are very easy to follow (basic counting; no fluff) but makes you work up a sweat and gets your heart rate up. I have noticed just doing the basic 27 minute workout three times a week for two weeks that my stomach is a lot more toned as well as my legs are starting to show definition. I am ready to graduate and try the advanced workout and mix it up.

I bought this tape in an effort to build body strength and lose some pounds. It was a penny before shipping so I didn't think twice whether to buy it or not. I think that it is a great workout for beginners like myself. I do think that Billy Blanks probably should have done this video by himself. The camera focused too much on the other people in the tape and not enough on him, so it is hard to see where he places his foot and how he twists his knees during jabs. I hated that the camera was on one of the girls in particular that kept screaming, oh yeah. After a couple of times, it drove me crazy. All in all it was a good tape, even though I have to keep the volume turned down and look away from the tape. oh yea!

This video is PERFECT for an athlete looking for a great ab routine. I've talked body builders into trying it (the kind who do 800 crunches a day) and it totally wipes them out. Fit it in just once a week to your fitness and diet program and you WILL see results!

This is one of those "so bad they are good" movies. Not quite as good as the classic "No Retreat No Surrender" (although the style of the movie is very similar), its still good enough to be enjoyed.

Loren Avedon I must say is very unique in all his martial arts films. I can never decide if I really enjoy his presence or despise it. His acting is rather lousy, but to the point its almost fun. He tries to be funny, and it sometimes ends up being so just for trying. As for fighitng, he actually is very athletic in his earlier films, and this is no exception. Loren Avedon plays a cop named Jake, who is assigned to Thailand to investigate the murders involved with film making. When he is put off the case, he insists on going when he learns the man who may be resposible for the deaths is the same guy ... Read More

VHS : Tae-Bo Gold
I purchased this video when it first came out. I found the regular tae bo videos to be a little intense for my 59 year old body! However, the gold version is designed for the older folks and I've been using it for many years. I only wish it were available on DVD instead of VHS. I've bought it for many of my friends and purchased another copy for myself upon giving away my original. Very good for the abs, and to strengthen your flexibility. I did get a little tired of the music, so made a CD from my Credence Clearwater Best Of to match the moves and play it right along with my exercise video. It's not perfect but close enough for a musical change. It takes very little space to do the exercises, and options for those starting out that can't quite reach or stretch or kick yet. Great for the beginner. Still enough to ... Read More

What I dislike is the playing of audience's worst side.
The antihero status given to serial killers is a bad thing ( in moral
and social terms).
The publicity and books about them may sell;
true crime magazines go back in the 1800's, but
making the methods and motivations so public may encourage
others to do the same.
In this movie the female lead is done very well,
as is the staging and dialog. The movie is very well
done; it just have very few socially redeeming qualities
besides being a 'seller' at the box office.

I'll go out on a limb and give this one a 4 stars. Though it feels like your basic average martial arts flick (and unfortunately, another lame movie taking place in the run-down future), the martial arts cast and amount of fight action make up for it. Though the fights aren't overly impressive, and some of these guys are used to giving a stronger performance, it seems there are fights every 5 minutes throughout the film. And I have seen plenty of worse fights in other films too. If it weren't for the action and cast, this movie would flop.

Billy Blanks. Jala Mehri. Bobbie Phillips. Matthias Hues. Bolo Yeung. All 5 star in this film, and all 5 are impressive martial artists. While the first 2 guys I mentioned (Blanks and Mehri) are not the most popular among fans, and are lousy actors, they still deliver solid ... Read More
