VHS : Cheaper By the Dozen (1950)
A delightful true story of the Gilbreath family. And how zany and crazy life can be in a family with 12 children.

2.Meet Me in Las Vegas starring: Dan Dailey, Cyd Charisse, Agnes Moorehead, Lili Darvas, Jim Backus

VHS : Meet Me in Las Vegas
Today this film suffers from not being associated with the times in which it was produced. Why did Cyd Charisse do that anti-Rock 'n' Roll number which today seems completely out of context? Does the film not emanate from the 'sane' world of the time giving its answer to The Girl Can't Help It which, incidentally, had a plot just as forgettable? The format is the same - guest appearances in cabarets by stars using their own name and, yes, don't miss the names in neon lights, Louis Prima, Keely Smith, the list goes on . It is all at once naive and fabulous, one of the voices in the wilderness against the intrusion of the decadent Rock. A collector's item!
Simply cannot agree with the statement that all of the numbers in it were unknown, The Gal With The Yeller Shoes was a big ... Read More

4.Butterfield 8 starring: Elizabeth Taylor, Laurence Harvey, Eddie Fisher, Dina Merrill, Mildred Dunnock
directed by: Daniel Mann
March 07, 1994
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : Butterfield 8
Butterfield 8 is pure camp, plain and simple! Elizabeth Taylor is the best thing in this uneven film, she won her first Oscar. Her character is anything but an angel, she drinks, swears, sleeps around with every man in town. I heard that Taylor tried to get out of making this film but she is a great actress so she knew she could pull this off. The ending is tragic and who said Eddie Fisher could act?! Definitely a movie to watch on a rainy afternoon.

5.Miracle of Morgan's Creek starring: Eddie Bracken, Betty Hutton, Diana Lynn, William Demarest, Porter Hall
directed by: Preston Sturges

VHS : Miracle of Morgan's Creek
That Preston Sturges managed to get this perversion of the Christmas story past the censors is a miracle all on its own. Betty Hutton's and Eddie Bracken's peculiar talents are a perfect fit for this story about greatness thrust upon an unlikely recipient.

Sturges's crazy combination of really smart banter, simple-minded slapstick and a perfect sense of comic timing works miracles with a great supporting cast: Diana Lynn, William Demarest, Julius Tannen and Porter Hall.

6.Babes in Arms starring: Mickey Rooney, Judy Garland, Charles Winninger, Guy Kibbee, June Preisser

VHS : Father Was a Fullback
We loved it and laughed all the way through it. I hope a real coach
doesn't have to go through all the antics that Fred MacMurray went
through. You have to like Fred MacMurray to really appreciate
this movie. I guess what made us laugh most were the teens. Our
daughter was the same way. I wasn't sure either of us would live
through those times.

8.Sitting Pretty starring: Robert Young, Maureen O'Hara, Clifton Webb, Richard Haydn, Louise Allbritton

9.Annapolis Story starring: John Derek, Diana Lynn, Kevin McCarthy, Alvy Moore, Pat Conway

VHS : Annapolis Story
Kevin McCarthy was the best known intellectual of the fifties. His long brooding face filled the screen with what made us think of the word "egghead" first- a doctor, lawyer or scientist. He's very badly miscast as a navy pilot and a football player. John Derek, on the other hand, is a shoe in for the part of his younger brother and romantic rival for the same girl. With better casting luck his bold action persona sporting a sensitive side could have been the Tom Cruise of the fifties. The battle scenes are top notch, intercutting real planes aboard a naval carrier with close shots of our stars. One weak scene does show them looking out the window from their planes in flight at each other about ten feet apart, not an A+ for realism, there.
