VHS : Still Not Quite Human
Of the 3 Not Quite Human movies, Still Not is our favorite. It has plenty of action, humor and plot to keep us on the edge of our seats. This is a very clean, fun for the whole family entertainment. Please republish it!

VHS : Mister Roberts
This movie is always on the top of my list. If you are a fan of the military classics, this is a must-have for your collection. Henry Fonda played this role in the play before the movie was made, so, his portrayal of Mr. Roberts is flawless.

The story is both heart-wrenching & hilarious at the same time. I, personally, cannot get enough of the crew posted on "The Bucket".

3.Queen Bee starring: Joan Crawford, Barry Sullivan, Betsy Palmer, John Ireland, Lucy Marlow

VHS : Queen Bee
The South must hold the monopoly in bitter, fractured families. In QUEEN BEE, based on the novel by Edna Lee, every member of the Phillips family has their own axe to grind...and it all stems from matriarch Eva (played brilliantly by Joan Crawford). Eva manipulates everyone around her with precision skill. In a loveless marriage with alcoholic husband Avery (Barry Sullivan), Eva is also dallying with her cousin's fiancee (John Ireland). When Eva's distant relation Jennifer Stewart (Lucy Marlow) comes to live with the Phillips clan, Eva's "sweet sting" soon infects her as well. The machinations continue as Eva twists the lives of her family members until they all shatter.

Joan Crawford lets the venom flow with her masterly performance as Eva, the queen bee of the title. Dressed in some ... Read More

VHS : Long Gray Line
The main character, Maher, is an Irish immigrant about 1905. He at first is called derogatory terms: Mic and Paddy. He gets pounded in the boxing ring, and has to pay for dishes he broke as a waiter. Then things get better.

In time, he has to contend with the lists of the dead during WWI, many of whom he knew, and is at a church service when the announcement is made that the Japanese had attacked Pearl Harbor to begin the US involvement in WWII. His career spans fifty years, and he is forced, against his will, to retire during the Eisenhower Administration.

One memorable scene, not mentioned by any previous reviewer, occurs when a politician comes, throwing his cigarette butt on the floor and bad-mouthing West Point as being excessively steeped in tradition, and out of date. Maher is ... Read More

VHS : Friday the 13th 1
Authenticity, creativity, style, and a spine-chilling sensation are some of the most compelling characteristics that make for a truly impressive horror film. Unfortunately, "Friday the 13th" does not even remotely approach those characteristics. This movie is an absolute atrocity that suffers from a variety of unforgivable flaws.

The opening scene takes place in the year 1958 at a summer campsite where a group of teenage camp counselors are enjoying a nice, quiet evening by the campfire. Two of the counselors are brutally murdered by an unknown character after attempting to slip away and make love. Following this incident, the movie fast forwards to the present. The current owner of the campsite, Steve Christy (Peter Brouwer), decides to revive the campsite for the summer with the assistance of some ... Read More

VHS : Friday the 13th 2
FRIDAY THE 13TH-PART II is definetly an upgrade from the original FRIDAY THE 13TH, since FRIDAY THE 13TH-PART 2 is the one where the relentless Jason Voorhees starts doing the killings at Crystal Lake to avenge the death of his vengeful mother Pamela Voorhees(Betsy Palmer)and makes his very first actual appearance while assuming the continuance of the brutal mass murders that Jason's mother started in the first place since Jason(Warrington Gillette) was convinced that anyone who comes to Crystal Lake to stay and vacation at are the responsible culprits for killing his mother.

Additionally, FRIDAY THE 13TH-PART II was scarier and has more action and adventure in it than the original too, especially since Jason was even worse and even more gruesome than his mother was along with the fact that camp counselors ... Read More

9.Tin Star starring: Henry Fonda, Anthony Perkins, Betsy Palmer, Michel Ray, Neville Brand
directed by: Anthony Mann

VHS : Tin Star
Although Henry Fonda was not as closely identified with Westerns as his buddy, Jimmy Stewart, he did make this one with Anthony Mann who made several of the best of this genre with Stewart (Man from Laramie, Naked Spur, Far Country, Winchester 78)--a low keyed oater where a seasoned ex-sheriff/bounty hunter (Fonda) shows a inexperienced young sheriff (Tony Perkins) how to survive in the Old West. This film doesn't have as much action as the films Mann did with Stewart but it has some great writing from Dudley Nichols who colloborated with another fine Western director, John Ford, on several films and rich characterizations from John McIntire as a elderly town doctor, Betsy Palmer as a young widow with an half breed child and Neville Brand as the bully/antagonist of the town. I believe the film also received an Oscar nomination ... Read More

VHS : Last Angry Man
This movie is about an elderly doctor in the Brooklyn slums. He has lived and worked in the slums for 45 years. He is dedicated to his profession and his patients. The story revolves around his nephew's efforts to turn the doctor's life into a television program. The movie is ok, but Paul Muni shines. He received an Oscar nomination for this, his last movie. Billy Dee Williams makes his movie debut as one of the doctor's patients. He plays a young thug with a brain tumor. The doctor has to chase after him to treat him. If you look closely at the girl left on he porch in the opening scene, you'll see that it's Cicely Tyson, also an unknown at that time.
