VHS : High Road to China
"High Road to China" is a classic. It had a great cast and good directing. The movie had action, adventure, comedy, danger, romance, and history. Tom Selleck is at his best. Bess Armstrong gives a stellar performance; as do Jack Weston, Wilford Brimley, et al. As with his movies, T.S's presence on the silver screen, doesn't overpower the other actors/actresses. It is a crime against good films not to view it, let alone not to own it !

2.The Four Seasons starring: Beatrice Alda, Elizabeth Alda, Bess Armstrong, Carol Burnett, Len Cariou

Overall a highly entertaining movie. The growth and maturing of friendships which translates into individual growth. The quality of the transfer from film to video is okay. It could have been better. A good film for couples.

If you loved Perfect Strangers, you will sooooo love this film! It is pure Pinchot fun. He is amazing as far as the physical comedy goes--how does he move like that? It's great to see him play "Murray" (whom he channels) as well as the rather off-beat Bobby (the channeler).

For those into action, the plane ride and the collapse of the fish house are not to be missed. It's cheesey 80s comedy at its best.

If you want a fun movie you can share with the kids (if you can admit you were alive in the 80s) or something to make the treadmill time pass fast, this is your movie.

I'm a big Tracey Gold fan & I've seen a lot of her movies. This one is a winner. She plays a drug addict who gets amnesia & can't remember her former life. For anyone who loves Tracey Gold I definitely rcommend seeing it. Some of her other good movies are "For the Love of Nancy", & "Midwest Obsession". Plus many more. For information about Tracey go to my website, "Wonderful TraceyGold."

Why was this show ever cancelled? I lived every moment with this girl, and I was 10 years older than her at its airing. It crushed me to see its departure. When MTV picked it up, I got to enjoy it all over again, and more. Now, I'm a wife and mother, and I still have the episodes that I taped ten years ago. It is truly a work of amazing talent. I hope to aquire the complete series on DVD soon.

VHS : Skateboard Kid
This movie took three years off of my life. It was like a horrific car crash that I could not look away from. First of all, Dom Deluise is the voice of a magical talking skateboard. The only way you'll ever see his butt on a skateboard. Second, this movie forgot to have stuff actually happen! Enjoy the montage of the skateboard kid and skateboard playing baseball together ( oh, yes) and then watching a sunset together. There are homeless people on the street, and people sick and dying, but the producers of this movie decided to use their money not on important causes, but instead on this waste of celluloid because they thought they were making citzen kane, or something. This movie hurt me, but I could never hurt it the way it hurt me. With all that said, I say go out and see it anyway. Trust me, ... Read More

"Beware, I am the jewel and around me there is lead, pallid, ignominious lead!"

A friend of mine reminded me of this movie recently via e-mail, so I stuck in an old copy and gave it another viewing. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it so much I decided to write a review to remind myself how much I enjoyed it in case I ever forgot again. I think it was Oscar Wilde, or Mel, the cook on Alice, who said something like only a shallow person doesn't judge a book by its cover. I don't think that's true with film, because like so many others, if I'd judged this movie by its cover art I would've never taken the time to watch it, since on the surface it appears to be another generic heist movie. I'm glad I bothered, though. Sure, it is a standard story, but what saves this ... Read More

VHS : Jekyll & Hyde Together Again
Dr. Stanley Jekyll accidentally invents a cocaine-like substance while searching for a drug that will eliminate the need for costly medical surgeries. Jekyll ingests the drug, turns into Hyde (in this case, a hairy disco-hipster with a gold tooth and a razor chain around his neck) and hits the LA party scene. But wait! Hyde needs more money to make the drug once his stash runs low. Luckily, his alter-ego, Jekyll, has won the Putzpuller prize for Medicine, and all Hyde needs to do is get a one-way train ticket from LA to London, England, in order to obtain the prize money (and more...er...'medicine'). Highlights include searching for Ivy at the Supermarket, and a blazing performance by Ivy and the S*@!ty Rainbows at Madame Woo Woo's. Order up some Chicken Sushi ("Pearl Harbor, buddy!") and enjoy. They don't ... Read More
