I was terribly disappointed when I started watching this movie and realized it wasn't the one with Rick Schroder that was made in the 80's. I felt misguided since you listed his name in the credits.

This version isn't "that" bad, although I found it too slow, only if you hadn't seen that other one before; otherwise, spare yourselves and don't even try it!

VHS : City of Women
"City of women" is another fantastic journey, a surrealist portrait of what the bizarre mind of Fellini is capable to make.

The initial sequence of the train entering into the tunnel is much more than a simple metaphor or explicated allusion, a genial lobby before this messy universe crowded of women makes its appearance, a demolishing and controversial film that simply is beyond any label you try to search.

Watch the genial sequence in the room surrounded by monitors of women of all kind. It's possible the jewel of the crown.

Another hallucinating fantasy of the great Fellini the freest of all the directors ever born.

Below average re-telling of the "alien lands on earth" cliche found in most American horrors of the 50's except this time its done terribly. The actors are all monotonous grade z-horror fodder, namely the woman who was in one of Lamberto Bava's early works, equally as bad as this. The story goes haywire when there is a midget clown attacking people with an absurd hand saw and the end doesn't really tell much about the intentions of the alien. Terrible film......

This video does an outstanding job of conveying historically accurate truths about the hideous results of atheist-based communism like extremely few books and videos do. I'm concerned that other reviewer's criticism of the non-Hollywood quality may keep you from viewing it. This video was so professionally done that it was broadcast during prime time by CBS. Watch it and gain wisdom. Five stars from me.

VHS : To Play the King
Having just finished watching series 2 of The House of Cards trilogy, the end left me with my eyes wide open, saying "wow"!, not usually one of my favourite expressions. In this series, Francis Urquhart is Prime Minister of Britain and is battling with the King on most of his governments policies, urging him to adopt more lenient policies regarding benefits for the poor and disadvantaged while Urquhart's party is distinctly right wing. The character of the King, played to perfection by actor Michael Kitchen (Foyle's War etc.)is clearly based on Prince Charles, using his speech patterns and bodily gestures and that of his sister(in the show) is based on his real lfe aunt, Princess Margaret. I usually combine watching any form of TV with needlework but, on this occasion, couldn't bear to tear my eyes away ... Read More

VHS : Macabre
This one isn't a real mover but it does have a strong plot and is conveyed in a coherent manner. The film is very atmospheric and the indoor shots are very well-done, a problem with a lot of the horror genre. I enjoyed the flick, hoping that it was scored by Les Baxter, but I'm still not sure that he did this one. In any case, I have a short attention span and I'm pretty generally intolerant of horror films but Macabre is pretty darn watchable, maybe not quite as good as Angel Heart which was a higher-budget movie. Not for the kiddies, given a central sexual tension theme, but fine for the average adult movie goer. I recommend it.
