VHS : Chariots of Fire
I never saw Chariots of Fire when it was in the theater in the early 80's, but I became interested in it after I saw some of the sites where it was filmed when I was in Scotland recently.

It's based on the true story of the track team of Great Britain in the 1924 Olympics in Paris. Eric Liddell has become one of my heroes -- standing for what you know is right even in the face of incredible pressure and sacrifice.

It's an amazing film!!

VHS : Return of the Borrowers
Wonderful sequel to The Borrowers. It's true that it doesn't stick faithfully to Mary Norton's books, but it's still close enough to make the movie interesting and delightful to watch. The actors are all fabulous especially Rebecca Callard as Arrietty and Daniel Newman as Spiller (wonder what they are doing now and what else they've done?). Highly recommended for both adults and kids; you will not be bored. The only problem is the quality of the tape really really sucks - which is really too bad. I truly hope they will come out with a DVD version soon.

I absolutely love the premise of this movie. A little girl's drawings come to life in her dreams. What happens when she forgets to include something in her drawing? What happens when she adds something? What if she makes someone look too angry in a drawing? Will they be angry in her dreams? What if she needs to erase something to reverse a mistake? Will the drawing let her? Will there be consequences? What a wonderfully original and very clever premise for a movie.

However...

I have to say my husband and I were disappointed. I had read so many reviews of this movie over the years and grew very intrigued to see this film. It resides on many "best ever" lists from top reviewers and it is highly acclaimed by critics and fans. So perhaps I expected too much? I thought it would ... Read More

The British version of this delightful series is far better than the American re-make (even though I like John Goodman). As previously noted , we could do with out the narratives by boring Mr. Lewis ( Gerard Butler would make a much better narrator),
I would love to have this for my twin grandchildren to enjoy when they get a bit older (they just turned 3).

This is a fun vampire flick. And I think pretty well done, if a bit campy - but that's part of the charm!

WHEN will it be released on DVD??? I want it for my collection and videotape is sooooo last century.

This is a great movie and keeps you guessing on how it will end. Kim Delaney is absolutely captivating as a true Temptress. It is appropriately named.

THE CORPORATE LADDER is a Playboy Channel movie, filled with pseudo-erotica and some beautiful women. John Anthony Denison (Crime Story) plays Matt, an up and coming advertising executive, on the brink of a major ad promotion contract with a jeans company. In steps his new assistant, Kathleen Kinmont, whose take charge attitude and imagination, win the deal for him. Of course, Kinmont has more than her career in mind: she wants Mark. Mark, of course, is married to lovely Talisa Soto, who is also pregnant. But lust wins over and Matt does engage in an affair with Kinmont. As in THE TEMP and FATAL ATTRACTION, this relationship can only be deadly---from the movie's opening sequence, we pretty much know who Kinmont really is.
Add seedy Ben Cross as Matt's associate/rival who coerces his women to have sex with him to "advance ... Read More
