Tnis is a Christmas gift for my son but this has to be one of my favorite all time movies. I love Errol Flynn and his athleticism and his anything goes attitude made this a fun movie to watch. The cast was a oerfect match and played well off each other. A must see on regular dvd so it must be really spectacular in bluray.

I'm a fan and have been for many years. The restoration of the film is superb. Highly recommended.

VHS : Above Suspicion (1943)
I really love this movie. "Above Suspicion" was Joan's final studio-system picture for MGM and her final feature movie until her worldwide hit, "Mildred Pierce." In this picture, Joan plays Frances Myles or Mrs. Edward Smith. This is a fast-moving, war-era movie involving a newlywed couple (Joan and Fred Mcmurray) as they play spies in Europe. Sadly, Joan always hated this movie, when asked about it many years later she only said: no prize for this one either.

VHS : Court Jester (Clam)
The Court Jester is a true classic that will keep you entranced the whole time. Danny Kaye is a top-flight actor and singer. It is sort of a take on Robin Hood , the evil king on the throne and a band of fearless outlaws in the forest loyal to the real king. Except Danny is not the fearless leader but the nurse to the orphaned crown prince, and his only duties are to hold the child and show people the mark on his (the baby's) butt. Sound nasty? it's not.

I've enjoyed watching the old Sherlock Holmes movies since I was 17. They use to be on every Sunday at noon and I would watch them. When they went to Video and DVD, I couldn't miss the opportunity. I love watching maybe three or so at a time.

Basil Rathbone was born for the role and watching all 14 will prove it.

After watching the 1989 version, I decided I needed the original. Honestly, I have no idea why they kept the title for the newer movie, because the two are not related at all. I'm one of the minority, in that I didn't like this one as well.

Three convicts on Devil's Island escape from the prison and decide to steal some supplies from a local shop before stowing away on a ship. Instead, they end up falling for the family who owns the shop, and helping them out.

It's a very cute movie, with the three being constantly pulled between their desire for escape and their growing affection for the family. And I did enjoy it, but it was really pretty simple and light, not really something I could sink my teeth into, I guess.

I suppose I fell into the same trap as those who ... Read More

When that first leaf falls off the tree. When you sense that smell of autumn in the air. When you anticipate the onset of the Halloween season, then this is the movie for your family. A Disney classic that all Disney lovers should own. Fun family viewing.

"Consider, Watson, the irony, the tragic irony of it. We've accepted a commission from the victim to find her murderer. For the first time...we've been retained by a corpse."

We are about to witness one of the cruelest and most dastardly of schemes, this time in the village of Le Mort Rouge, located not far from Quebec City and surrounded by marsh, bog and swamp. We also will witness the increasingly unnatural relationship between Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone) and John Watson (Nigel Bruce). No, no, not that kind of relationship, but the unnatural relationship between a rigorously logical detective and a friend who has become a bumbling, ridiculous oaf. One must assume that sometime between 1939 and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and 1942 and The Voice of Terror, John Watson suffered a series ... Read More
