Great book. Written in sense of "Gone with the Wind." Good character development. Really saw the growth of Scarlet, from self-centered child to caring young woman. Always had the feeling, unlike the film, that it was Scarlet and Rhett. Set in Irish history background.

What an amazing movie! this is on my top ten list and will be there forever. My mom is the one who first introduced this movie to me many years ago, and now we watch it over and over again. I never seem to get tired of it. The love between Shannon and Joseph is a love everyone in the world wants. There are so many laugh-out-loud scenes that are hard to forget. I work at a video store and I'm constantly recommending this movie to cutomers. I absolutely love it =)

I had the priveledge to see one of the first screenings of the rediscovered un-cut version of this film a few weeks ago at Brandeis University, and I must say that the New York censor board truly did this film a disservice when it forced the producers to cut and change it. It was really great, but the most interesting part was at the end when they showed clips of the edited version to show what was changed, and it was astounding how rediculous the edits seemed in context of the meaning behind the film.

DOLLS!!! What may have been at the time of release "shocking" dialogue is why Valley of the Dolls will live in infamy. "Well Broad-way doesn't go for booozze and pills." Helen Larson tells Neeley O'Hara at the start of their catfight in the powder room. Great fun to watch with your best Gay friends. Great extras included. Packaging is well done and comes with lobby cards.

10.Movie Movie starring: George C. Scott, Trish Van Devere, Harry Hamlin, Barbara Harris, Red Buttons
directed by: Stanley Donen

Delightful double feature spoof of two 1930's B movie genre's. "Dynamite Hands" is a fight movie with such snappy dialog as "Do you know what they want for any eye? An arm and a leg." The second is a Busby Berkeley style musical "Baxter's Beauties." Great song "I just need the girl." Both films star George C Scott and incorporate all the cliche's.
