I first saw this series while living in Japan as a child. Ever since, I dreamed of living on a ranch. I loved the book also, which I read after watching the series. I'll always remember the Crown V fondly, especially now that I've married into a cattle ranching family. :)

This is an excellent series for children over the age 10. There's enough adventure for all ages. The characters through the decades resonate throughout the whole series. It makes me want to read the book again.

VHS : Condorman
I remember watching an interview like this is your life years ago with Michael Crawford, and they went through his career of TV, movies and plays etc.. and I kept waiting for them to mention condorman and they never did, and they should, as it's a very underrated movie.

When I was a kid, this was one of my favorite movies. About Woody (Crawford) who is a comic book writer who's best friend Harry (Michael J Fox's father in Teen Wolf/Longest Yard (original) guy who dies) is a file clerk for a spy company, who when left in charge to send a civilian to Istanbul to deliver some spy papers, he bumbled his way into making a top KGB agent (Natalia) believe he is a top agent and later wishes to have him help her defect to America.

Woody takes on the challenge and finds himself ... Read More

VHS : Masada
Masada (Hebrew îöãä, pronounced Metzada, from îöåãä, metzuda, "fortress") is the name for a site of ancient palaces and fortifications in the South District of Israel on top of an isolated rock plateau, or large mesa, on the eastern edge of the Judean Desert overlooking the Dead Sea. After the First Jewish-Roman War (also known as the Great Jewish Revolt) a siege of the fortress by troops of the Roman Empire led to the mass suicide of Jewish rebels, who preferred death to surrender.

According to Josephus, a first-century Jewish Roman historian, Herod the Great fortified Masada between 37 and 31 BCE as a refuge for himself in the event of a revolt. In 66 CE, at the beginning of the First Jewish-Roman War against the Roman Empire, a group of Jewish extremists called the Sicarii ... Read More

I wouldn't go out of my way for this if I wasn't a Bond completist, but NSNA seems to me to be a fair-to-middling Bond outing that compares favorably to its contemporary (1983) 'official' competition, OCTOPUSSY. Despite a low budget the film doesn't feel cheap, the recycled plot is one of the better ones, and Connery, although hamming it up a bit as a middle-aged superspy, is still everybody's favorite Bond.

If you're comparing this to the early Connery, or even the Pierce Brosnan period, forget it - done at the height (depth?) of the Roger Moore period, NSNA is full of tongue-in-cheek, but handled better, IMHO, than the corny Moore scripts. Q-Algy was less overdone than John Cleese, though James Fox's "M" dialogue was sometimes a bit too over-the-top, Barbara Carrera had to make do with ... Read More

VHS : Wicked Stepmother
After a 60 year acting career, a double mastectomy, followed immediately by a dabilitating stroke, 'The First Lady of American Cinema', Bette Davis kept acting. While she was living with terminal cancer, the daughter she adored wrote a stupid, burnable book about Davis which is obviously trying to capitalize upon her mother's successful career & great name; rather than being based in truth. Since it is a slam against Bette Davis as a mother, which has long been discredited, it is so true to the character of Bette Davis, who loved to play pranks & be humorous, to leave us with "Wicked Stepmother" as her final film. If audiences can place this film in the contexts of Davis flipping-the-bird to her spiteful, ingrate of a daughter, then "Wicked Stepmother" is extremely funny & high camp. Bette Davis had no need ... Read More

Another fabulous film inspired by Sid the Elf. You must check them out if you haven't already!

I've been a Norris Fan for quite some time, yet I haven't seen all of his movies since he's got over 500 in his library. So I've been catching up on my Chia-Chuck lately, hitting the good & the bad. This movie is quite good!

First of all it has a midget in the movie. And it's not your usual dwarf/elf/stunt-double midget. This little bugger is, basically, cause for all the chaos in the film. Midgets need more positive roles like this one in Hollywood. I'm tired of elf movies.

David Carradine plays a bad guy in this movie, and does it well. I'm used to seeing him as Bill from the Tarantino flicks (and vaguely remember him in Kung Fu). So it was nice to get a younger Bill, and more evil ... Read More

VHS : I the Jury (1982)
This flick starts with a pre-opening credits teaser along the lines of the James bond films. Armand Assante, a forceful, charismatic actor grabs your attention and for the most part keeps it. The absolutely gorgeous Barbara Carrera makes a stunning femme fatale. Not a bad update of Spilanes first Mike Hammer book. It even retains the famous final line. Much truer to the hard-boiled private eye then the watered down tv version of the 80's.

Trouble's brewing on a tropical isle: Oilman Paul Newman has just struck oil, but what's that funny smell? Turns out the island's long-dormant volcano is about to blow. When it does, half of the folks stay at the hotel (read: Lava Target Cental) while Newman takes a small band across the island to a safe spot. Will they make it?

This movie is just terrible in every respect. Clearly, producer Irwin Allen (The Poseidon Adventure, The Towering Inferno) had lost his creative spark by 1980 when this was made. The cast is full of top-notch actors (Newman and William Holden among them) but the script and the direction are abysmal. The sound is poor and background noises often overwhelm the voices which sound tinny. The actors spend all their time looking staring blankly at each other while the soundtrack booms ... Read More

This movie released in Indonesia with the title of " Spanish Rose". Michael Pare as usual did welldone. Hot... scenes and beautiful surroundings / view of Miami making this movie so beautifull. I always enjoy the movie with Michael Pare on it. Hopefully that this movie will be available in DVD format specially unrated directors cut edition .

Written by the same author and oiginally intended to star Richard Burton, this 1985 follow-up to the classoc 1978 original was(somewhat) unfairly mauled by critics upon its release. It shared the same fate of another favorite of mine (Force 10 From Navarone) in utilizing a well-known and beloved movie title with a very different plot line.
Although I enjoy the original that starred Burton alongside Roger Moore and Richard Harris, I prefer the Cold War intrigue of this movie to the African backdrop of the 1978 film. I also think Edward Fox was a welcome substitution for Burton (who apparently died before filming began), channeling some of the Jackal character from his excellent performance in the earlier "Day of the Jackal", the only gripe I have regarding his character is that he is underused.
In fact most of the ... Read More
