This movie is so wonderful. I loved it when it originally came out in the early 90's then redisovered it after my own father passed away. This movie should be released to DVD and for all of those who missed it I'm sad for you this movie has all the right punch; comedy, darkness, and drama. If you get the chance watch this movie you will be so glad you did.

VHS : A Midnight Clear
I watch this film every Christmas Season.Odd choice? Well, if you consider that the Season is about "peace, good will to all" then yes.A MIDNIGHT CLEAR is a look at the two small platoons of beleagured soldiers from America and Germany (who make it quite clear that they are not Nazis, and the F%$# Hitler!) who meet quite unexpectedly in the Ardennes Woods in December 1944 in the final year of WW2.The point of the film is to show that War is not all that some glorify it to be.This is a "different" approach to War, much like the recent LETTERS FROM IWO JIMA where human faces and emotions are placed upon both "the home team" and "the enemy." That both of these platoons discover each other at Christmas and exchange gifts, songs and negotiate a "surrender" removes us from the battlefield and allows ... Read More

An interesting DVD. The movie was good but the extras were even better. The interview with Vonnegut and Nolte was quite interesting, as was an idea for trailer that was eventually modified before being used. It occurred to me that the original trailer (still admired by the producers) violated the warning of the movie by being something that should not even be pretended at.

I love this movie and have been waiting for years for it to come out on DVD. I'm not like some other posers who are armchair critics (or wish they were) and wanna-be directors who cut down movies for one stupid reason or another. I analyze a movie on how it makes me feel, and how it makes me laugh. This one does deserve 5 stars and I think it's one of Travolta's better roles, at least from the 80's. I liked it as much as Two of a kind. My favorite part was the Russian pilot that just couldn't get American slang correct. Cracks me up every time I see it.

If you're a Mel Gibson fan, don't miss this movie. It's his sexiest movie ever and, for the male population, Michele Pfeiffer is in it too and how! It's not just steamy, it's really hot!

I'm still trying to figure out what all the negative reviews are about when it comes to this 1984 sequel to James Glickenhaus' brutal 'The Exterminator (1980)'. This is not intended to be Citizen Kane, this is a cheesy 80s vigilante flick with grade-Z production values, eerie grainy film quality, a cheap analog synth score, etc.

In short, fine entertainment! Seriously though, this is an excellent midnight movie-esque action flick. Best watched at 3am alone in a sleep deprived state.

This is a funny movie that had me chuckling along with it most of the way. Walter Matheau seemed a little superfluous until the end of the movie however (hard to believe as a crazy man). Grodin was dry, wry and hilarious - until he went over the top in the end. And Dan Akroyd did a great job. One of his best I'd have to say. A fun little movie that entertains.
