VHS : Garbage Picking Field Goal Kicking Philadelphia Phenomenon
We enjoy movies about underdogs, and this movie with its overly long title is no exception. Tony Danza is Philadelphia garbage man Barney Gorman, who has developed incredible leg strength by kicking a hydraulic control handle on his garbage truck, named Ethel. When Philadelphia Eagles' recruiter Wendy Fox (Julie Stewart) spots Barney kicking water bottles incredible distances, she gets the idea to add Barney to the team. At the time the Eagles were doing poorly and their kicker was missing easy field goals and extra points (according to this movie - I have no clue as to how the real Eagles were doing at that point).

Barney becomes an instant celebrity as he embodies the spirit of every person who has ever dreamed of playing for a professional football team. However, Barney encounters ... Read More

VHS : Rampage
"Rampage" is a strange movie: it tells a small but nasty story of Charles Edgar Reece, a deranged young man on a killing spree, and the long courtroom battles that follow his arrest. What's so strange is that the movie seems awfully directed, even dull at times, more like a quicky or a routinely made-for-cable TV film. But its director is no one less than William Friedkin, the man who made such powerful films like "The French Connection", "The Excorsist" and "Sorcerer". Three movies which all had a lasting effect on its viewers.
The raw, almost documentery-like approach of Friedkin made these classics more than just entertaining fiction; they seemed real, and at some points very close to us.

So what happened on the set with Mr. Friedkin when he made "Rampage"? Was he bored, sick, ... Read More

VHS : Penalty Phase
Tony Richardson's first foray into television since his early days with the BBC, PENALTY PHASE features Peter Strauss as Kenneth Hoffman, running for re-election as a superior court judge while presiding at a media displayed trial of a murderer of 17 young women, Nolan Eshelman (Richard Chaves). The film nearly begins with the reading of "guilty on all counts" for Eshelman, and thereupon Hoffman must decide upon a just sentence from the eponymous penalty phase. Complicating matters is a series of anonymous letters to Judge Hoffman which infer that Eshelman was the victim of an illegal search by police detectives, and that evidence used in the trial was recovered from him before a search warrant was sworn out. Hoffman's opponent in the election is the prosecuting district attorney during the trial, Susan ... Read More

VHS : Beethoven's 4th (Clam)
This movie tells a story about how a mibehaved St. Bernard named Beethoven. His masters didn't believe he was very obedient so two of the kids sent him to obedience school. In the park, he runs off to a hotdog stand. Another St. Bernard(from a very rich family) named Micheal Angelo ran from a kidnapper. Thus, the two kids got Micheal Angelo and the rich family got Beethoven.

If you're wondering what else happens, get the movie! It's a good movie. It's great for dog lovers who are looking for a funny comedy.

VHS : Man of the House
If you do not know about this movie, then you are about to be served with a treat unlike any treat you have ever received.

It stars Chevy Chase, who IMHO has just gotten funnier over the years, and Jonathan Taylor Thomas (the star of Home Improvement) as nutty people saying the zaniest things. Disney scores another home run with Man of the House, and the comedy grabs you by the throat from the very first scene and never loosens its grip.

If you've never seen any Chevy Chase movies (and what's wrong with you, if so?!) then this is definitely the one to see. He is very, very sarcastic which is my sense of humor too, and he has some of the funniest faces and zingers that you'd ever want to see/hear. But he has definitely met his match with the kid from Home Improvement, who delivers ... Read More

VHS : First Kid
Sam Simms (Sinbad) is an unorthodox Secret Service agent. The Secret Service assigns Agent Simms to protect the President's son, Luke Davenport (Brock Pierce of "Might Ducks"), code named Prince. Luke has managed to dispose of several previous Secret Service agents by driving them crazy, including Agent Woods (Timothy Busfield of "Thirtysomething" and "The West Wing").

The movie tries to portray Luke as a child ignored by his famous mother and father and unable to have a normal childhood. Though I empathize with Luke a little, he also generally acts wimpy. However, thirteen-year-old Luke has stirrings of normality as he gains a huge crush on classmate Katie Warren (Erin Williby in her final role) and has a run-in with the class bully. After the run-in with class bully Rob (Zachery Ty Bryan), Luke ... Read More

VHS : Air America
Air America is a movie for lovers of the Police academy movies or fools who spend more time hi five-ing their buddies at sporting events than watching the game. DUDE! Yes you. Mel Gibson and Robert Downey JR, head an embarrassing cast of actors playing lovable rogue types in this attempt at ironic comedy. The comedy is a stream of one liners and smart replies to each other and senior authority figures. The scripting is so poor that canned laughter would not be out of place in this dull movie begging the audience for laughs.
The producers of the movie used local villages as extras who frequently shot at the cast during filming. A Laotian spokesmen explained the villagers position. "It's not that the movie showing the C.I.A making money illegally in Laos that is upsetting. It's the fact that two major American actors ... Read More
