VHS : Masada
Masada (Hebrew îöãä, pronounced Metzada, from îöåãä, metzuda, "fortress") is the name for a site of ancient palaces and fortifications in the South District of Israel on top of an isolated rock plateau, or large mesa, on the eastern edge of the Judean Desert overlooking the Dead Sea. After the First Jewish-Roman War (also known as the Great Jewish Revolt) a siege of the fortress by troops of the Roman Empire led to the mass suicide of Jewish rebels, who preferred death to surrender.

According to Josephus, a first-century Jewish Roman historian, Herod the Great fortified Masada between 37 and 31 BCE as a refuge for himself in the event of a revolt. In 66 CE, at the beginning of the First Jewish-Roman War against the Roman Empire, a group of Jewish extremists called the ... Read More

VHS : Anne of The Thousand Days
I have loved this movie since the first time I saw it when it was released. What acting! Don't you love to hear Richard Burton's voice? And Ms. Bujold...her acting makes the part. Now for some good news I wanted to share. I went to the Universal Movie Studios website, actually to ask them when the TV series Centennial might ever be released on DVD (another absolute favorite of mine) and it says on the site that on Sept. 18, 2007 it will be released on DVD as a 2-movie collection: Anne of The Thousand Days and Mary, Queen of Scots. Did I make anyone else's day like reading that made mine? Hope so.

VHS : Manions of America
This is the story of Rory O'Manion (Pierce Brosnan) from young adult hood and his fight against the oppressive English in Ireland. From the potato famine and loss of his mother, to his love for the English landlord's daughter Rachel (Kate Mulgrew: of Star Trek Voyager),and subsequent flight to the shores of America. From poor to rich in America, but still longing for the freedom for his beloved Ireland. Also starring Linda Purl (The Exorcist), Nicholas Hammond (Sound of Music, Spiderman), David Soul (Starsky & Hutch), and Simon MacCorkindale. Very moving, interesting to watch Pierce Brosnan in the early days of his career.

VHS : The Tamarind Seed
I LOVED this movie when I watched it in the late 80s on VHS. Now, not only can't I find it on DVD here or anywhere online for this area of the world, but I can't even find a VHS copy anywhere. It seems like Australia and Japan and the UK have PAL versions available. Does anyone out there have any influence with the studio to make sure they release this on DVD for WORLDWIDE distribution?

Anyway, this was a fantastic movie, very different type of role for Julie Andrews (serious), quite well done. The setting in Barbados was magnificent, and the chemistry between Andrews and Sharif was really mesmerizing. I really want to see this film again. Anyone have any idea how to get it?

VHS : Story of David (2pc)
This is the most accurate story of David movies you can possibly see. I admittingly have not seen EVERY single movie/film that has ever been produced about the life of David, but ive seen all major ones released in theaters and available at Blockbuster Videos etc.

This one is the longest in length of time as well and still is full of accurate details taken from the bible. There is some small inconsistencies but nothing to really get upset or offended about. You can tell it was done with the utmost respect for the scriptures and accuracy was a priority.

Definitly one to add to your collection of biblical story films..

VHS : The Fall of the Roman Empire (EP mode)
A good video to understand the history of the Roman Empire. This video was instrumental in helping my child understand the history of what happened during this era.

VHS : The Guns of Navarone (Special Edition)
The reissued DVD version of THE GUNS OF NAVARONE is a great improvement over my tired old VHS copy. Not only is the film in widescreen presentation, the color and sound is superior to the tape version.

As with most Alistair MacLean inspired movies we find a story with a handful of commandos, plan gone awry with double agents in their midst, battling a large contingent of the Wehrmacht. One wonders what the Germans were doing with all that substantial air power, armor, and artillery on a small island at a time when the Eastern front was collapsing. The same situation was encountered in WHERE EAGLES DARE and FORCE TEN FROM NAVARONE.

The Plot: In a bid to gain a foothold on the Dodecanese Islands the British landed a force on Kheros. Unfortunately the Germans had other plans and ... Read More

3 hours + of thrilling, among the best ever, don't want to miss one second, so much better than the recent issue played by Matt Damon, a must see
