Fantastic movie. Highest quality, old style entertainment. Movies aren't made like this anymore! I would deem it a must have if you enjoy entertainment that is wholesome and great viewing for anyone any age.

This movie shaped the lives of many girls of my generation (way old). As Ofoeti mentions in the review below, we ate and drank this movie. However, we had to keep reading the little paperback book, as there were no VHS machines yet. The little book came from a kids newspaper we used to get in school, I almost remember the name of that newspaper (Weekly Reader?). I was sorry to read in Mike's review that Annette did not enjoy the making of this movie, but I do know that she loves horses. Wasn't her husband first her horse wrangler? It is time to rerelease this on DVD. I wonder if it is Annette or Disney who is holding up the release of this movie, but if they don't release it soon, those of us who love it will be dead. 'The Adventures of Merlin Jones' has been available for years on DVD, but they have overlooked this funny sequel time and time again. It just doesn't make sense and the way Disney regurgitates their movies every couple of years, I figured this was bound to come out sooner or later! It's bad enough that a lot of there older films get horrible "pan & Scan" releases, but I'll take it anyway they want to do it at this point. I would hope it's not a "PC" issue!.....aargghhhh! :-( Please release the DVD!

I'm sure big fans of Frankie and Annette may have found this movie very enjoyable, but for most of us this film is pretty lame and corny! Most of the jokes fall flat, but the film does have a certain amount of charm. The first 20 minutes are OK, with our favorite surfer couple's son "Bobby" delivering most of the laughs! There are many cameos from old TV show stars in this film, but they are not all that memorable. It's hard to come down so hard on a family friendly movie that means so well, but this film is mildly entertaining at best! The DVD transfer is fine with no extras at all!

I used to watch this constantly when I was a kid, and would recommend it to any parent. The classic animation infused with the timeless music is a wonderful way to entertain a kid for endless hours (as my parents quickly found out). To this day, when I hear "Baby Love" by the Supremes I think of Dumbo, and "When I Grow Up to Be a Man" by The Beachboys, I think of Donald Duck and his nephews racing around in a 60's era sports car. Its hard to tell by the cover but this movie is a real gem that I can say for certain, from my own experience, is an invaluble addition to any parents movie collection.

Annette, Frankie, Linda Evans, Marta Kristen. All so young and fresh faced. Isnt it a shame we all have to age. This isn't Shakespeare but who cares? For its genre I give it 5 stars.

All of these attributes combine to make this movie totally enjoyable. Although _Pajama Party_ was an American International quickie, it has all the charm of a Disney movie during certain scenes. Maybe it's the old, familiar Disney characters, such as Elsa Lanchester and Tommy Kirk, in combination with Annette Funicello that help create this illusion. I remember when the Monkees show was on Saturday morning reruns, and my siblings were surpised that I enjoyed it despite my very young age. In the age of "MASH" (actually 1-2 years before) there were indeed a great many persons who conflated mere juxtapositions and semi-random non-sequiters with the sense of anomie they felt at the time, and were desperate to see expressed in some way. Funny, but my 4 OR 5-year old self (although purely in terms of chronological age!) seemed to be the ideal audience for this kind of writing.
