VHS : No Time for Sergeants
No Time for Sergeants is a funny movie with Andy Griffith. It is good clean humor although it is in the Army. I would like to own this movie but am unable to locate it.

VHS : Centennial Vols 1-12
I first saw this series while living in Japan as a child. Ever since, I dreamed of living on a ranch. I loved the book also, which I read after watching the series. I'll always remember the Crown V fondly, especially now that I've married into a cattle ranching family. :)

This is an excellent series for children over the age 10. There's enough adventure for all ages. The characters through the decades resonate throughout the whole series. It makes me want to read the book again.

I would reconsider ordering a used video again; acturlly, probably never again! The first part was way too bright and light and the second part was too dark in several sections of the movie. If this movie becomes available new I would reorder it. Thank you- Margaret Weaver

VHS : Pray for the Wildcats
For anyone who remembers classic ABC TV Movies Of The Week, "Pray For The Wildcats" will always be THE classic one (along with another Andy Griffith masterpiece, "Savages"). It is my great hope that one day soon, "Pray For The Wildcats" will see a proper DVD release, and I'm sure it would sell thousands of copies. As for the movie itself; If you're reading this review, you already know that this film is genius, because you have seen it. So, please add your own review of "Pray For The Wildcats", and help join the call for a DVD release. And remember: "He just bought himself a long walk home"!........

VHS : Frosty's Winter Wonderland
BACKGROUND: The 1976 cel animated real sequel to Frosty the Snowman, it is shorter than the original Frosty at half an hour format. Made 7 years after the original Frosty which was an hour long format. The character design was by Paul Coker Jr, who did the same work for the first special, so the visual continuity works very well. Frosty gets a wife named Crystal (Played by Shelley Winters). While the first show was narrated and sung by Jimmy Durante, this time we have the voice talents of Andy Griffith. The famous voice actor Paul Frees stars as Jack Frost, and the policeman. Frees was a regular at the studio and had voiced the policeman, ticket seller, and Santa in the original. Dennis Day voiced the Parson, and Jackie Vernon voiced Frosty just like he did in the original. The writer is Romeo Muller, just ... Read More

VHS : Savages (1974)
I saw this one a long time ago. It is a good drama with excellent acting that has a nice twist in the end. Andy Griffith played a bad guy in this one which is an unusual role for him. He did it well. Some accomplished character actors play supporting roles including Noah Berry Jr. The action is fairly low-key. There is violence but the movie emphasizes the malevolence of Griffith's character and his cynicism over blood and gore. It is a character piece and a bit of a survival tale.

One reason that this movie so interests me is that I now own the old gas-station building that was used in the beginning and ending scenes. If you are a Griffith fan, you will be surprised with him in this one but impressed. It was probably shot on a low budget but it came through well.

This classic had me rolling in laughter. I am a retired coastie and it brought back some wonderful memories. I could never have a cinnamon roll again without thinking of this movie and two great actors. Walter Mathau as a veteran cook with a drinking problem and Andy Griffin as his understudy and protector is superb casting. The movie gives a small sample of the Coast Guard's entry and roll at sea, at the start of WWII. I can't wait to acquire a new copy on tape. The first time I viewed this was on a Cutter at sea in the Atlantic. The whole crew loved it!

I have always liked Johnny Cash but never realized how good an actor he could be. He was outstanding in this movie.
