It's been a while since I last saw this film and I remember liking it a lot! The DVD has gone out of print(OOP) and it's a shame that so many people will miss seeing this interesting and gritty film. Rourke gives a memorable perfomance in this tale of booze and should-a", "would-a","could a's". I would have to see it again before I could give it an honest rating, but it is certainly worth a new DVD release. "I could have beaten him if I had eaten a sandwich!" Please re-release this film on DVD!

VHS : Chariots of Fire
I never saw Chariots of Fire when it was in the theater in the early 80's, but I became interested in it after I saw some of the sites where it was filmed when I was in Scotland recently.

It's based on the true story of the track team of Great Britain in the 1924 Olympics in Paris. Eric Liddell has become one of my heroes -- standing for what you know is right even in the face of incredible pressure and sacrifice.

It's an amazing film!!

VHS : Sharpe's Collection, Set 2 (Sword/Battle/Gold/Honour)
We get four new adventures of Major Richard Sharpe as ge continues his battle through Spain.

Sharpe's Honor is the best of the lot as we see the return of Ducos as a villian and Alice Kirge without her borg queen makeup but still carrying the moments she is on screen. All this as Sharpe is suffering from the death of his wife.

Sharpe's Gold is the worst of the lot. The subplots are much better than the main plot and the actors carry it well. The "villian" of the piece just doesn't work for me, but fine acting and great subplots make this worth seeing. It is my choice for the worst of the 14 Sharpe movies (meaning only 4 stars)

Sharpe's Battle is an improvement with a fine plot, (an Irish brigade) a great villian (Gen Loup) and fine foil (The Lord Riely) and best of ... Read More

This movie has some excellent scenes but departs from the Bible account in many places. Richard Gere plays a very somber David. I think David probably laughed and cried a lot if the Psalms are any indication. Worth watching. Read the book for the real story.

I was impressed by the dual act of Chris Sarandon.

I took one star because the movie did not show much of the characters' passion!

Two men are in love with one woman. It would be hard for her to choose so one of them scarified himself for her happiness. The movie ends with her tears (Alice Krige) as she discovers his true feelings and the sacrifice he made.

It remains one of my favorite movies!

8.See You in the Morning starring: Jeff Bridges, Alice Krige, Farrah Fawcett, Drew Barrymore, Lukas Haas

the story is based on Simon Wiesenthal the "Nazi Hunter" and a couple who survived the Holocaust. This rare example of how the human heart can effect the scale of justice is a lesson worth learning. The movie demonstrates that to punish the guilty, one might have to choose to punish the innocent even more. This is the "catch 22" Mr. Wiesenthal finds himself. See for yourself how difficult it was for all concerned and what would you have done, if you had to make this life changing choice. Must see situation!!

VHS : Dinotopia (EP Version)
I saw a rating on this tv mini-series, and disagree with it - while Dinotopia is a Utopian society, there are some good moral lessons to be learned here. I found the plot enjoyable as well as interesting. The two brothers were so different, yet each found his place in the new society they found themselves in, while helping each to overcome some of their fears - as well as helping the society overcome some of their problems as well. I'm an older woman, but I still enjoy kids movies (good thing since my grandchildren enjoy watching them).
