VHS : Out to Sea
This is a very funny movie, in my oponion it is better than
Grumpy old men.
Jack is the realist & Walter is the dreamer
Walter wants Jack to go with him on a cruise to meet some women
that are rich to take care of them for the rest of their life.
What Walter didn't tell Jack was they were to dance with
guests that didn't have anyone to dance with, that's what
was paying for their cruise.
I rate this movie a 9 from 1to10!!

This is a remake of Fistful of Dollars. Bruce Willis plays Clint Eastwood in a reimagining of the classic now set Prohibition's gangster era. It's still a lonely town on the Border with two warring factions in uneasy truce when the loner walks in, or in this case drives, to upset everything.

VHS : Mistral's Daughter
First, Mistral had a legendary love affair with the mother (Maggie), then years later found his true love in her daughter (Teddy). I don't know what kind of emotion that would have created in the mother, nor would I want to know. But for the observer, the story is hard to resist.

Stacy Keach (Mistral) was allegedly battling substance abuse problems while this filmed. He was adequate, and perhaps would have been more so had it not been for the cocaine.

Lee Remick (Kate) was lovely on the outside, even if her character wasn't so lovely on the inside.

Stefanie Powers (Maggie) did a great job, but to me she absolutely should have been Teddy. I even picture her as Teddy as I periodically re-read passages of the book.

Lily Taylor (Teddy) was so miscast! ... Read More

Teen suicide, one of the hot-button issues of the 1980s, is the sensitive subject of this made-for-TV movie. Mariette Hartley plays a mother going through a painful, protracted divorce who realizes too late the effect it's having on her troubled son (Chad Lowe). Other on-the-brink young actors who appear in this 1984 film include a pre-Platoon Charlie Sheen and Sherilyn Fenn (six years before "Twin Peaks").

VHS : Dead Poets Society
This movie is, by far, one of my favorite movies of all time. It was so well written, directed and has some of the best actors (i.e. Robert Sean Leonard-Dr. Wilson himself!). Moving score as well. I hate to say this but it was because of this movie that I became interested in poetry. And I saw this at the movies when it came out in 1989. I was 20. I hadn't known what I was missing not reading poetry. Better late than never! Watch this movie, open your mind and you'll be pleasantly surprised! Peace.
