This movie is so wonderful. I loved it when it originally came out in the early 90's then redisovered it after my own father passed away. This movie should be released to DVD and for all of those who missed it I'm sad for you this movie has all the right punch; comedy, darkness, and drama. If you get the chance watch this movie you will be so glad you did.

VHS : Sesame Street - The Best of Elmo
Kids just love Elmo, no matter how much adults may not feel the same way, though I do admit I am somewhat entertained by him. But my son (2-1`/2) absolutely loves him, so that is what really matters. I try to limit television/video time and a one or two 1/2 hour breaks during the day and this is a good DVD for those times - you usually cannot go wrong with CTW.

VHS : Jerky Boys
If there's one thing America can be counted on to provide, it is this: slapped-together movies looking to quickly cash in on the latest fad. Once in a while, this phenomenon can produce something truly special. (A Hard Day's Night, for example.) Unfortunately, you usually get stuff like The Jerky Boys, a cinematic train wreck featuring amateurish acting, a lifeless and predictable script, and tons of shamelessly recycled material from the Jerky Boys records.

You really have to love Hollywood. Who in the world thought that a couple of guys who make prank calls for a living would make viable movie stars? It boggles the brain. Prank calls depend on improvisation and the element of surprise; after all, most of the humor comes from the fact that the person being pranked isn't ... Read More

Best Sesame Street movie ever. It started my love for all things Egyptian, and for museums! I now work in one, and on my days off, I travel around going to other museums! This movie sparked my obsession. It is educational, and something no child will forget!

VHS : Elmo's World - Babies, Dogs & More!
We received this as a gift from some friends with a slightly older toddler. My son was not allowed to watch TV or DVDs until he was about 2.5 years old, and this was one of the first he really watched and enjoyed. He is the youngest and he loves the "babies" segment, in which toddlers and young children play with babies. My son learned how to interact with babies, and grew very interested in them, from watching this DVD.
I think the DVD is very well-done and exciting for small children. We have seen it repeatedly, and each time, I really appreciate the fun imagery, the music, and especially the choice of subjects that hold such great interest for small children.

I saw this movie when it first came out now 30 years ago. Arkin and Caan pair up to deliver probably the funniest police duo ever. The chase scenes, special effects (as when their car plunges off a overpass into an elderly couple's apartment), and the humor are better than just about anything you can find in a similar movie today. Plus the actors just wouldn't be as classy as Arkin and Caan. By the way, this was the movie that Lethal Weapon basically copied for many of its ideas. The Lethal Weapon movies were good and very entertaining, but this movie was where it all started, so if you're a fan of this genre, this is a must see.

My two-year-old granddaughter loves Elmo, I love anything Halloween, we both love the Count, so this DVD was made for us! If you're looking for something fun and off the beaten Elmo path, then this is it! The story line is Elmo is going to visit the Count at his castle to share some "scary" jokes with him, and fun monster songs and "old school" songs by the Count are mixed in between. My granddaughter watched this everyday for a week (and then five times in a row when she was sick) when we first discovered it, and she still enjoys revisiting it. I must confess that I loved the songs so much that I bought one of the now discontinued CDs of the same title, and my granddaughter loves listening to the music when we drive around in the car (she always asks for "more" after each song ends ;). Believe me, ... Read More

VHS : Sesame Street - Getting Ready to Read
I purchased this video to introduce, reinforce and rehearse pre-reading skills with my 3 year old. This video features members of the Sesame Street Gang: ryhming, sounding out words, and playing with word families. The video subtily teaches the left to right direction for reading and reinforces phonics. The songs are catchy, which helps preschoolers to retain the concepts. My daugther is learning the songs and progessing forward in reading readiness quite well. I highly recommend this video for parents that want their children to have a strong foundation for reading.
