VHS : Godfather Trilogy 1901-1980
This trilogy is by far the most excilerating ever. It tells the story of the rise and fall of the Corleone crime family. Although this is a fictional story, It is one of the best stories that portrays the acts of a real Mafia family. After Vito Corleone(Michael's father) dies, it is up to Michael to take up the family business. Michael finds himself turning into one of the most feared gangters of his time. Watch this action packed film with plenty of mind blowing suprises. It is an all around great trilogy staring;Al Pacino,Marlin Brando,Robert Deniro and other great actors.

VHS : The Godfather, Part II
The Godfather part 2 is HIGHLY recomended by me. It is not as good as the first, but it's still great! The only part i don't approve of is Michael ordering Al Neri to kill Fredo(HIS BROTHER!!!) Although he took sides against the family, you should always love your brother. Anyway, great highly recomended 5 star sequel!

VHS : Revolution (1985)
I think its easily the best movie about the American Revolution. The A&E videos of TV pressentations of "The Crossing" and "Benedict Arnold" are also very good. While how good it is is a matter of opinion, anyone who thinks that Gibson's silly movie is better doesn't know much about American history. This movie has the feeling of the 1770s and the criticism of Pacino's and Kinsky's accents is amusing. The residents of the americas came from every corner of the earth and regional accents were numerous. Who knows how anyone sounded?

The real disappointment is that the available Portuguese region one dvd has very disappointing video quality. But at least it IS widescreen. But I am looking forward to a decent U.S. release. I suspect the dvd import is pirated.

But its great ... Read More

VHS : The Godfather, Part III (Final Director's Cut)
THIS MOVIE IS TERRIBLE. The first 2 were excellent. If it's not bad enough waiting 16 years for a 3rd movie, then the movie itself is just horid. I mean like Michael is like in his 50s and Kay, Al Neri and all the others look they were about to croak any second. There are a few cameos from the first and second movies, like Michael's daughter looking through a scrapbook with pics of Appelonia(Michael's first wife who died in a car explosion in part 1), and a picture hanging on a wall showing Michael and Kay in a scene from part 2, and even a reference to Santino when Michael's daughter ask's a friend of Michael's 'What Was Sonny(Santino's nickname) Like?' Other than that THIS IS A DISGRACE TO ALL GODFATER FANS. AVOID.

I absolutely love watching this movie even tough it has some painful moments. The story line is believable and the chemistry between Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer is simply fantastic with their love making a real turn on. Even the restaurant scenes make me hungry. And how can you not enjoy Nathan Lane?

VHS : William Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice
This is a good version of the play, but since I am a school teacher - let me give you a big heads up - there are a lot of bare-chested women in this that does nothing to further the plot. It's my husband's opinion that they are there so that men will watch the movie. The other problem is that this version is trying so hard to be politically correct that it bends Shakespeare's meaning to suit a twenty-first century audience. I feel this is done in such a way as to cause problems with the basic plot.

I wanted to see this film just to see what the big deal was about this film being called "The Greatest movie ever made." Baloney (and that's putting it very mildly). This film is simply a waste of time & talent. 2 hours, 49 minutes of f-bombs spewed everywhere. I don't mind watching a movie with profanity & violence, but there's got to be a good storyline to go with it (the "Lethal Weapon" movies, for example) This movie was utterly a waste of my time. I ain't seeing it again. The Greatest Movie Of All Time?!!! B.S.!!! "Beauty And The Beast" is the greatest movie ever made (I grew up watching it, so naturally I'm in favour of it). I love "Gone With The Wind" & I personally think all the classics (and
"Beauty And The Beast" is certainly a classic) are much better, both enrtertainment & moral-wise, ... Read More
