As a child of the 80's, I've always loved this movie. This "Totally Awesome" addition has an extra scene and a great extra feature that will move you to the location in the film where each song on the soundtrack appears. Besides, Drew Barrymore is completely cute, and her chemistry with Sandler is legendary.

Eight Crazy Nights is the thrid back to back unfunny movie(following Little Nicky and Mr Deeds) that Adam Sandler has made in the past two years. Eight Crazy Nights is full of toiler humor and unfunny one-liners. I may have laughed once or twice if these movie. They should have called Eight Crazy Ways to ruin a comic's carrer.

VHS : Mr Deeds
Longfellow Deeds (Adam Sandler), a small town pizza shop owner who writes greeting cards (not that Hallmark has accepted any), inherits a $40 billion business from an uncle he never met. So at the behest of the company's executives, he goes to the big city to sign paperwork until the executives can raise the money to buy him out.

It's big news, and tabloid TV reporter Babe (Winona Ryder) goes undercover to get the scoop on him.

Of course, the executives turn out to be crooked, and Deeds's small-town honesty is needed to save the day. And of course he and Babe fall in love.

It's predictable, but fun, and requires major suspension of disbelief. Not a bad way to spend an hour and a half with the kids, but not a movie to purchase for the collection.

This isn't a varey realistic movie but it is fun. It sort of belongs on the shelf next to "Wayne's World". By this time the basic premise ( I hesitate to say "plot") is well known.
Chazz Darvey, singer guitarist for "The Lone Rangers" (a running joke throughout)has a fight with his beautiful blond but irritated live in girlfriend, Kayla, who has become increasingly digusted that she does all the work and pays all the bills while Chazz is unemployed and unsuccessful in his quest to become a full time musician. After one fight too many she literally throws him out of the apartment and Chazz shows at the home of bandmates Pip and Rex. Pip runs a pool cleaning service and Rex works in a toy warehouse which has just discontinued a line of water pistols for looking too authentic. Rex confiscates a fewe for himself which ... Ok, call me a prude. I'm sure someone will. But I spent 15 years in the US Navy so that label ain't gonna stick. It just seemed like you couldn't go 2 minutes without somebody proving they knew how to say the word over and over and over. There is no way you would ever want to watch this movie in mixed company, IMHO. Watch the TV version. They sanitize it. Ok, about the movie itself, getting past the gratuitous language, it's not half bad. Other people will give a synopsis of the movie which I won't bother repeating. Petty crook Sandler becomes good buddies with (unknown to him) undercover cop Wayans who has to betray the friendship and bust Sandler. Sandler accidentally shoots him (in the head ... ouch!) but he recovers. They both wind up on the run and reestablish the trust and friendship and Sandler gives up his life ... Read More

Barry Egan (Adam Sandler) is a child-man character prone to explosive anger, much like other Adam Sandler characters. But wait, this one is very different. Instead of a comedy, this is an art film where Sandler really delves deep into his character to find the source of his anger. It seems that his emotional development was stunted by the fact that with seven sisters, he was the only boy. They tease and torment him, but he can't really fight back, so it is all bottled up inside, except when it explodes in periodic outbursts.

The story was inspired by an article in 'Time' magazine about a University of California civil engineer name David Phillips who took Healthy Choice up on their offer of frequent-flyer miles in exchange for purchasing their products. He bought 12,150 cups of pudding for just $3,000 and thereby acquired ... Read More
