VHS : Pearl (The Miniseries)
Yes this is just a big soap opera, and most of the stories are just filler to set up the attack, but there is a strong feeling of a throw back to films of bygone days here that makes me like this even though i know it stinks. The attack last longer in this than it did in real life, and they keep leaping from it to some more soap opera filler that get very annoying after a while. The cast is ok but with all the corny line they have it's not really fair to say they are not good , they do what they can. I grew up in the 70's and these miniseries were a steady T.V. diet of the time,so some of my fondness for this mess is because it takes me back to younger days, and as such some will like it for that others will be less kind .

Well if you like little people and I tend to stay away from the words "dwarf" or "migit" because to me that's cruel. But, if you love or like little people this movie is for you. Rollo Sweet an aspiring dreamer that wants to go to Hollywood and be famous expect a telegram from the film company. While everyone in the boarding house was listening to the President of The United States giving a speech and by the way this took place around the 1930's so you'll see old timy cars in it, so there was no television invented yet so they had to listen to the President on the radio. VHS : Not for Ourselves Alone - The Story of Elizabeth Cady Stanton & Susan B. Anthony
It would be totally inadequate for this reviewer to say that NOT FOR OURSELVES ALONE:The Story of Elizabeth Cady Stanton & Susan B. Anthony is simply a "must-see","well done","moving","dramatic","compelling"etc.etc. documentary of the two forgers of the early Woman's Suffrage Movement. This Ken and Paul Burns treatise has been so carefully, sensitively and lovingly handled, crafted and assembled that I was moved to anger, incredulity, sympathy, action and finally to just good ol'tears!
NOT FOR OURSELVES ALONE tells in vivid detail, based upon the enormous source material and writings and correspondence of the two amazing women of the 19th -century,Cady Stanton and Anthony, who almost in a battle alone, fought tirelessly for the equality and dignity and rights of all women to receive and exercise ... This wonderful story is of a man's desire to meet the Lord, but fate keeps him occupied through the years. He just misses his chance to see the birth in Bethlehem and is always one step behind to "catch up" until that week in Jerusalem and the Easter miracle. The uplifting part is this Magi did all in his power to live the Christian life of helping our neighbors in need without ever hearing the message preached by Jesus. The story may begin with Christmas, but ends jouyously at Easter. Very good performances by a great group of actors!

VHS : With Friends Like These
How far will friends go to get that "big break" in Hollywood? If you're a wanna-be Sopranos star, the news of Martin Scorcese casting for the leads in an Al Capone film is too good to be true. This amusing film skillfully manuevers the lies and deception that four friends pull on each other as each jockey's for that coveted interview... incredible casting, including quite a few surprise "star" bits, keeps the film fresh, lively and on target.

Having had health problems and dealing with a plethora of Drs, nurses and health care "professionals" and ancillary staff, it is my personal opinion that many of them have never been ill and/or in need of hospitalization. This movie should be required viewing for everyone that earns a paycheck in any aspect of health care, from Drs to housekeeping to the switchboard operator.

VHS : Horatio's Drive: America's First Road Trip (Dol)
I can't say enough about this movie. It's a true story. It was made by the Legendary Ken Burns. It was tremendously inspiring. I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!! Horatio was a bit of an aristocrat, and based soley on a fifty dollar bet, he decides to drive across the United States from San Francisco to New York. Not much of an accomplishment today, but in Horatio's day there were no roads. Oh did I mention that Horatio was attempting to be the first person to cross the United States in a Car. With no experience, No roads, and a whole lot of optimisim; Horatio hires a driver, buys a car, and the two of them take a journey that I believe is as epic as that of Lewis and Clark. I think that anybody that enjoy's offroading would absolutely love this movie. If you are a fan of History, you'll love this movie. If you just enjoy a good ... Read More
