These bits are OK for hard woods, but for anything softer (pine, fir, poplar, etc) they tend to screw into the wood rather than boring a hole. The "pilot point" appears to be the major drawback of these bits, IMHO, not the major benefit.

I purchased 4 of these and all of them where identical and of excelent quality. Without WARNING One of the tape measures starting spinning at a high rate of speed then flew off into outer space. (In my opinion: Buying an extra tape just see it fly off is worth the risk of wasting some money on an extra ordinary tape) The 3 tape measures work fine I will review the last one if it ever flys home.

For a small, light multi-tool, this Leatherman has been my favorite. Unlike the Gerber it replaced, all the tools come out without difficulty. The quality is nice and it's small/light enough to not be noticed in the pocket. That's why various airports have a collection of my old tools.

Very easy to setup. The back of the box gives you some ideas for different configuration ideas. The top track is the most important part to install correctly. I would take a piece of masking tape or blue painter's tape and line it up across the wall. Get a feel for the height at where you want the rods, and make sure the tape is level. and then hold the track up above the tape and do your drilling. If you are drilling into wallboard without studs behind it, get familiar with how to use the included wall anchors before you go drilling holes. If you feel your wallboards are weak, look into some other wall anchor options at your local Home Depot or Lowe's. Honda wanted almost $300 for a similar tool, and it would have taken 3 months to get... Great price and it works great! Most of my Honda buddies have borrowed it at least once since I have got it.

My DeWalt drill was dead for a long time and I was limping the batteries along with no results. It is too bad that DeWalt charges so much for new ones. Nonetheless, these XRP batteries have tons more power than the stock ones and seem to last much longer. I was able to get them at a much better price on amazon.com as well.

I used the Trim Loc tool for the first time to trim out a door casing. What I found as the tool's only useful feature was how much quicker it was to mark the reveal line (vs using the combination square). I tried to use it for the measuring and either the tape kept falling out of the tape hook slot or the Trim Loc moved off the stock. I guess in theroy it works better if you use the tack holes but how is that a time saver. I'm sure mine is heading to the dusty bottom of drawer #3 in my workshop.

I do renovations of old homes and don't come across bolts very often so I don't like to keep a whole socket set cluttering up my tool bag or truck. However, I do come across them occasionally and have found this "universal" socket wrench to handle virtually every situation in one handy little tool that has earned a spot in my tool bag. Removing a wrought iron railing the other day, one of my carpenters asked if I had a socket set to remove the bolts holding the railing to the brick, and I handed him this. He looked at it suspiciously but tried using it and now he wants one. I bought mine back in 98. I have used it frequently and still works like new. I prefer this model over the long skinny screw driver model because I know I would have lost that screw driver ten years ago. Anyone getting into any type of carpentry or fabrication should buy this as there 1st saw and they will be very please with it for years to come.
