I made the mistake of buying a cheap drill that was 12v or 14v, and it would last only 6 months. I just got this 9.6 volt drill to see how DeWalt would do, and I have to say that this drill is at least as powerful as those other drills. It's very light, and makes a perfect screw gun since it's easy on the arms. It also comes with a second battery, and I find myself with hardly any downtime because of that. The charger is nice, quick, and helps you prevent overcharging your batteries. Have you ever picked up a tool and can tell that it's a quality tool? That's how this tool feels.

This tool is a dream come true for IT technicians, especially when you have tons of cases and parts to remove and install. i bought this product about 3 weeks ago. charged it and never had to recharge it since. I usually use it on the lowest clutch setting and it's still going strong. I have used it on approximately 40 machines since i first got it and i think i can go to my next job with it without recharging. i love the pivoting head and it's feels firm and durable in my hand. All i need is more Bits which i'll be buying very shortly

This is not a precision instrument. Use it for rough estimates only. It is good for what all of the other 9 reviewers used it for, however, it can be off as much as a half inch. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with my unit, other than I get varying measurements. If the measurements were at least consistent, then it wouldn't matter what the numbers were, but I measured the same wall 6 times and got 6 different results. Like I said, if you are just hanging shelves or pictures and want them evenly spaced, or even if you want to find the center of the ceiling, this unit will work as long as you don't mind that it will be a little off. If you are making the shelves yourself, use a tape measurer.
