This device fits in a standard kitchen sink drain. It has the advantage of allowing water to flow out the sides when the bottom is clogged, unlike the traditional sink stopper. You shouldn't let too much fiber get into your septic system as such material will not be digested quickly by the septic bacteria and lead to your sediment tank getting full. Then comes a several hundred dollar pump out. That is why septic systems and garbage disposals are a no-no. This device is a cheap way to keep your drains flowing.

One of these units was installed in the home we purchased a couple of years ago. At first we wondered whether we would use the unit but have found it quite useful. We use it pretty much every day BUT....I always wondered how long the plastic lever would last...well...it finally broke a couple of days ago...I am trying to find a replacement lever right now....from reading other reviews online the plastic lever is the weak link in this unit. I do find the unit spits quite a bit...especially if I turn the water temperature up a bit. But it does fill the need...unfortunately, we've gotten used to having it and until I get the lever fixed we have to actually boil water on the stove...back to the dark ages.....:(

I'm pleased with my purchase & find the shower head easy to use. I hope it reduces water usage like the product claims. Have only used the product for 4 weeks so far. It seems to increase the speed & force of low water pressure, with ease of setting's. The hand held feature makes ease in cleaning of the shower stall. I would recommmended this product & am pleased with my purchase so far.

We had purchased one at lowes for one of our bathrooms and when we needed another they were out of them. We tried other brands and they would not last and were a poor fit because of the size of the hand showers. This one fit the bill for what we needed in size and reliability. The only place that I could find them was at Amazon.com.

Today I look under my sink and see the water puddle. Check my receipt for water dispenser, two years old. That figures, for fifteen years I have had the insinkerator hot water dispenser. The first lasted nearly eight years before the tank leaked. The second five years before the tank leaked this one two years. They are a great idea but the price has risen dramatically(just over $100 initially) and the quality has dropped alarmingly. When the tank leaks you have to change the complete unit as the dispenser to tank fittings change so now I face spending nearly $200 for a replacement. I think I will check out other manufacturers first!

Amazon's photo with this item (as of November 2008) is of the wrong product. The photo shows the blue refills, which are worthless unless you just like blue water. This product, Fluidmaster 8302, is bleach--not blue--refills for their Flush 'n Sparkle cleaning system. I added my own "customer image" of the correct product; look closely and you can see both "8302" and "bleach" clearly printed on the tab at the top of the box. The bleach refills are the best toilet-cleaning product you can buy. Even if the Flush 'n Sparkle system you installed in your toilet originally had a blue cartridge in it, you can use bleach refills, which I strongly advise.
