I have been using PUR for 10 years and have seen several generations of PUR filters. The last generation is the one with orange indicator that tells the life of the filter. Now, PUR has smartly integrate this indicator inside the latest version of filter, where the filter will stop filtering (water stop dripping down the container) around the 60th day of usage! Now I have to rush to buy another replacement filter..., what a hassle!!

We recently ordered this Maytag water filter. The product arrived quickly, in good condition and works well. The price was reasonable. We will most likely order from here again the next time we need a new filter.

I used to be a die hard Brita fan but the water coming out of this filter system tastes much better. I also like the fact that it is cheaper than Brita and takes out more chemicals and bacteria than Brita. Amazon and Lowes have some of the best prices out there. I have a dispenser and a pitcher and that does well for a family of four. It takes about as much time between the Brita and Pur to filter the water but you have to follow the instructions on soaking a new filter and rinsing it out at the beginning or else it will be really slow. I am very satisfied with these easy filters.

In the beginning Brita Replacement Filters were an outstanding idea that complimented the pitcher system. For the first couple of years the filters worked great. Somewhere along the line beginning in 2007, Brita decided to go cheap and introduce a much maligned filter. The filters look the same, but that is where it ends. No matter how long one soaks the filter, carbon residue still shows up in the reservoir and in the water. At first I thought it was just a bad batch of filters. When I installed the new filter I didn't realize that we would go through a period where the water tasted "funny", at least that's how my wife described it. It took about a week for the taste of the water to return to normal. That was the only thing that I didn't realize when I replaced the filter. Besides that it worked fine.

This product replaces the kenmore refrigerator water filter. It fits. The only complain is the water taste wired for a week. Now the taste is either gone or we used to it.
