Tried them. Plants die for either the pressure from too much water at first or not enough water the next day. Once the full sun hits the bag, basically it gets so hot inside the bag regardless of the outside air temp that the roots cook or the water dries up. I did not take an actual temp reading but when I finally gave up and dumped one out to feel the dirt, it was as hot as the decaying dirt in my compost pile. Heat that is part of why a compost pile destroys weeds, etc. Bad idea that is presented well on TV. Do not bother. Total waste of time. If you need to hang your veggies just get a hanging basket with peat moss etc., and hang them the right side up.

New Kenmore grill and already getting frustrated over the laborious process of cleaning and forget about sticking parts in the dishwasher as you are told at Sears. Well I grilled some chicken breasts and purchased this item and did not clean it for a few days until the Grill Daddy Pro arrived. I bought this to make more space in the shed that we use for storage of the family's four bikes. It works, but it is not easy for the average 5th grader to use. Application: Lift a 28 pound bike high enough to put another similar road bike underneath it. Make this easy enough that a 5th grader can do it. Result: 5th grader can accomplish this, but it is difficult enough that both she and her mother complain about it. Thus, the 3 stars. This unit makes the job possible, but not easy. Issues: 1. Arriving in a timely manner, the thermometer equilibrated in a short time after setting it up. It is easy to read, accurate enough for domestic purposes, and attractive. The storm glass was easy to fill though filling it took longer than I supposed. Now the storm glass agrees with the local weather people and provides a great deal of satisfaction. I'm pleased with this product.

It takes two AAA batteries that are not included, and the compartment is easy to open. Setting the clock and monitoring the temperatures is very easy - the instructions are clear but you really don't even need them to figure it out. The numbers on the LCD panel are nice and large and very easy to read. Switching among the functions is easy. I also like the plastic pull-out stand feature so you can stand this unit up. This is a nice bucket. I use it when I am gardening, trimming trees, etc. I didn't give it 5 stars because as you fill it up, if you've lined it with a trash bag/leafbag, it tends to be a little difficult to get the bag out without tearing. Other than that, I think it's fine. I have purchased two of these - one for me and one for my mom!

We put this indoor thermometer in our baby room upstairs. It works great. We were looking for something that just gives the temp, didn't really need any other bells/whistles. The humidity level reading is a fine addition, but we really only focus on the temp. This is perfect. It appears to give an accurate temp.
