I bought this item several years ago, sold as the True Value Hardware brand, but obviously an unmarked Fiskars item. It fits well in a pants pocket, the little latch can be operated one-handed, never has gotten dull, never has rusted, never has broken, cuts almost anything up to 1/2". And it has the anvil pruner advantage of not slipping by or around what you're cutting.

I purchased this power-lever shears on line because I could not find them in my local area any more{I had purchased my first pair 5-10 years ago and the power at the cutting edge was the best I have used}They were showing signs of wear and I wanted to replace them while still use able, so the wife and I could each have a pair to use. When they arrived I found the end two inches did not touch so did not cut. I notified the shipper by Phone/Email, they sent a free shipping Label and I took it to the local UPS Store who agreed to ship it back 2 weeks ago. I'm still waiting for the replacement Shears!!!

With it's extra-long lightweight handle and well designed tines, this has quickly become a favorite tool. The tines minimize damage to plants, are good at raking leaves out of evergreen shrubs, and reaches easily into the back of flower beds. Am thinking of buying the wider version, because this one works so well.

I hate giving negative reviews and the product itself seems okay. We purchased two of these as Christmas gifts. They came super fast - no complaints there, but I just couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the box on my porch. First, whoever taped it shut did a horrid job. The tape was barely stuck to the box and was pulled up and the box was gaping open. Then, the items were just tossed together inside the box with no packing underneath them to cushion them on the bottom, but tons of weird paper just piled loosely on top. I was rather surprised they weren't damaged or even scratched from just being dumped into the box together with no packing between them or under them. I love the weight and heft of this trowel. I love the metal and the rounded tip. I love the way the handle fits in my hand. The Rumford Gardener Pro Trowel is perfect for digging, transplanting, and weeding. For weeding, I hold the trowel in my right hand, make an insertion behind the weed and pull it out with my left hand. On to the next. I don't spray poisons into the soil, I don't pull the weed and leave roots--I dig it out and it is gone!! Perhaps a more pointed blade would work better, but this unit and I work as a team now and we are happy!

Bypass are being used to cut anything " green" within it's cutting capability, and because when you squeeze and cut, the handle you pull up also rotates to reduce figer fatigue, you might lose grip when wearing gloves, so remember to use this line of pruner bare handed, cuts great under normal posture, also with palm down position, not so when palm facing up, so you switching hands to do the job, and that's when you will find out the power gear handle only rotates clockwise, and the design is not useful in your left hand, so left hand user beware.
