The dive I am forced to stay in has jimmy marks on the outside of the door hardware...The door bar in question gives peace of mind that the door will STAY closed when I'm on the inside, asleep. Saves on the hassle of firearms, and works well as a window jammer to stop entry from my fire escape when I'm away.

I have a 15 year old Stanley opener with tiny switches and a 5 year old Genie electronic system and they are both programmed with this opener. A built-in opener sold by the auto dealers can cost over $400. Multiply that by the number of vehicles you put it in and it can get stupid expensive. This was less than $30. The instructions tell you how to program each button based on lists of names of different systems. It took some time to figure out which settings to use because my older system didn't work with the suggested programming and I had to experiment. I did get frustrated at the beginning. If it was four inches longer and a little heavier weighted I'd like it better. But it does the job (aside from those four inches) and I'm glad I have it. Pay attention to measurements of your door and the door stop though so you don't wind up with one that is too short like I did.
