I've owned one of these units for 10+ years (longer? 15?). It is excellent, simple, and secure. My old one finally stopped working after the painters blasted the keypad with high pressure water. I bought a new one, installed the keypad with my old electronic box and it works perfectly. I admire its solid, simple design. It is secure because the electronics and the code are both safely locked inside the garage. It is safe (and convenient) because after opening the door can be immediately reversed for the next minute or so by pressing any button -- in case it is closing on something or someone, or it was just a quick open/close to put away the bicycle. Strongly recommended.

Easy to install, works great. Manual says "BE SURE YOU SCREW THE ELECTRIC PLUG INTO THE OUTLET" because if it falls out of your ceiling outlet it will hurt. But the plug doesn't have the screw tab pictured so you can't screw it in. I secured it with something else. I also didn't know that the disable button required a separate wire from the unit across the top of the garage over to the inside opener button. I have a finished garage, and the opener wires are run hidden behind the wall. So now I have a second wire that runs exposed along the ceiling and wall. It works fine, it's just unattractive. Other than these two items, I have no problems and would buy it again.

Bought a replacement Transmitter and receiver system from AAA remotes, CA . Problem was the Liftmaster 9* serie transmitters is work on 390 MHz and that frequency is currently jammed by the military. The range of the transmitter gets very small that you have to physical touch the door before it recognizes the signal. AAA remotes is aware of this and keeps on advertising the 9* series as an good replacement system and does not put any disclaimers near the 9* serie products. AAA remotes did not want to replace/exchange for the 315 Mhz models. They are really horrible at their customer service and this policy. I definetly recommend never buy from this organization.
