This pump worked great for draining my pondless waterfall the only problem was that the discharge is 1 1/4 and the hose I purchased was 1 1/"2 so off to the plumbing store for a jerry rigged adapter. I would have like the pump to come with 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" after all the discharge hose that they recommend is 1 1/2".

After my builder's grade sump pump died after six years of use, I decided to upgrade to a better unit. Worked good for the first two years, but now will not engage by itself. I can tap the float to make it work, but it will not work on its own when the water level requires it to turn on. After collecting model/serial number & purchase info, I contacted Wayne. As covered in other reviews, the lifetime warranty covers very little of the unit. In fact, the company's customer support folks expect for the switch to be replaced every two years at over $30 a pop. The switch includes the cover assembly, and you must drain and refill the oil before replacing the switch and top. Wayne 1/2 HP 115-Volt Transfer Water Pump, Cast Iron #PC4 This is a fantastic pump. For a half horsepower pump, it sure has a fantastic volume and speed capability. It's equipped with convenient brass fittings to make most hookups easier. A terrific value, especially considering the reasonable price. Wayne also has a fine selection of accessories for use with this pump. A real good buy!

The pump looks very high quality and evacuated the sump pit very quickly. I prefer the float switch over the tethered system. Installation is easy, ignore the manual, the best instructions are right on the box. I was disappointed when I saw the same pump at the local Farm & Fleet for $90 instead of $115 from here.

Solved my problem with emptying rain barrels. This pump proved to be just the ticket to distribute rainwater in the lawn and garden area with enough pressure to even get a decent spray going.

This was the second Factory Reconditioned Wayne Ulility Pump that I have ordered through Amazon. The first had a normal length power cord. However the second came with more than 12 ft. cord. Amazon should let us know if the product comes with widely different cord lengths.

I originally was looking for a Zoeller pump. I did not find one on Amazon that could ship out right away. This was the next best thing and happened to be half the price. I was looking for a sewage sump pump for a basement bath. It had to be well made to last because opening up a sewage sump tank to replace a cheap sump pump was not high up on my list of fun things to do. I usually don't skimp on the pumps. I needed one fast and order this one next day air. It came in via FedEx in the manufacturer's box, half way busting out of the box! FedEx had don't a real number on it and whoever shipped it hadn't double boxed it as Amazon usually does! The plastic float valve was busted! I had to send that one back. I always order a replacement parts kit for any pump I purchase. Sooner or later the brushes or the shaft seal will wear out. O-rings can fail. If the pump has been discontinued by the manufacturer, then it becomes useless and a new pump must be purchased. Pump parts kits can save a bundle.

I bought the reconditioned and it runs and looks like a totally brand new pump. I looked on the web at other sites and they wanted $99 minimum and $159 Maximum and shipping extra! My local hardware (ACE) wanted $99 and would have to order it also not to mention shipping! I came home and decided to search for "lowest price sump pump" and out of the blue came the link to a reconditioned Wayne from Amazon for $39.95! When I clicked the link lo and behold FREE SHIPPING today was offered! I got my little credit card out and bought ASAP and tax and all saved hundreds! The free shipping was 5-9 days and yes it took 9 days to arrive but was worth the wait!
